I'd be easy to sleep if the moon didn't seem so alive
The sinking skyline in front of me sends me into overdrive
Driving my expansive mind back to when I was five
Nighttime atmosphere is my favorite weather
My head begins its addictive chatter
I can't ignore the irony in drawing trees on paper
Like my heart can't ignore your love, hits like a crater
Golden vocals emit from my bedroom monster
Terrified I was until I accumulated some needed data
Monsters aren't always the monsters you see on paper
I draw my monsters much realer, scarier
and sometimes the scariest monsters are the greatest angels
Like the moon, villains go through cycles
and
I'd be easy to sleep if my mind didn't have so much to think
If these bedtime monsters didn't crowd my space
With a billion daydreams
