Tony sat up and rubbed his eyes. "Um, where's Luna?"
"Luna?" Loki looked confused. "Babe, are you feeling okay?" He asked as he wrapped his arm around Tony.
"I just... I had this dream, I thought it was real I guess." Tony sighed and stood up.
"Who's Luna?" Loki asked, getting concerned.
Tony paused, "nobody." He hung his head and went downstairs to the kitchen to find something to eat. Loki got up and followed quietly behind him. Tony opened the fridge and saw little to no food. "Let's order pizza." His voice sounded upset. Loki began to get even more worried, was this a girl he wanted to be with? Why wouldn't he tell Loki who she was? Loki sat on the barstool and watched as Tony got out his phone to order the food. Loki was too scared to ask, he wanted to know, but he didn't at the same time. Tony sat next to Loki and played on his phone, the stress was eating at Loki.
"I'm not really hungry anymore but uh... can I um..." Loki was trying to find the right words to say, "I need to ask, not that I need to know but um, who is Luna?"
"I had a dream that we..." Tony paused, "we adopted a little girl. Her name was Luna." He looked at Loki, "It all felt so real. I thought it was but, then I woke up. Weird thing is, it still feels real. Babe, I feel like Luna is out there. I feel like she is a real person, there was a reason she was the one, that we knew all the details about her." Loki was taken back, he couldn't be a father. His troubled past, how he can still snap at times.
"Is that something you want?" Loki asked. Tony nodded. "We can find her," Loki laid his hand on top of Tony's. He wasn't going to argue, he knew if that is what Tony wanted, he would do it.
"Do you think we could be good parents?" Tony asked, his voice scared. Tony's past was troubled, hell, even now he is a mess.
Loki hesitated, "I think so." He didn't want to answer truthfully. He knew that would break Tony's heart. Loki wasn't ready, he didn't want to mess up. He didn't want to be a parent, he couldn't.
"Can we try to find her? I swear she is real. She has to be." Tony hung his head. Loki thought for a second if she means this much to Tony, maybe, just maybe, there is a reason.
Loki turned to face Tony and put his hand under Tony's chin, lifting it, and looked into Tony's eyes. "Of course we can." Tony smiled. He got up and hugged Loki.
"Let's do it then," he said then kissed Loki's forehead. They went over to the couch and began to look. Loki let Tony do all of the findings, he just laid back and watched. Minutes turned into hours, Loki laid down and put his head in Tony's lap. Tony looked down at him and smiled, he ran his hand through Loki's hair, and soon Loki drifted off. Tony continued to look, he spent hours looking. It was now late and then... he found her. Tony froze, that was Luna. Her green eyes, her dark hair. He looked at Loki who was still sound asleep, he was hesitant to wake him, but he knew he had to. "Babe?" Tony whispered. Loki opened his eyes slowly to see Tony smiling like an idiot. "I found her."
"Really?" Loki asked as he sat up and looked at the screen with the little girl. He didn't say anything. He saw her eyes, her hair, she looked like him. "She looks..."
"Just like you." Tony finished. "It's a sign Loki... can't you see that?"
"Tony I..." Loki took a deep breath, "I don't know if I can do this. I've done so many things wrong in my life. What if I mess up? What if she doesn't like me? I don't know how to be a parent. I don't even know how to take care of myself..." Loki's eyes began to fill with tears.
"Babe, we can do this. Okay? I know you have had a rough life, "he grabbed Loki's hand, "we both have. But, I feel in my heart that this was meant to be. We can be good parents. I'll try my hardest to be a good parent. I'll help you."
"I don't know," tears began to stream down Loki's cheeks, he felt weak. "I can't mess up. I don't want to mess up." Loki began to cry.
"Baby you won't," Tony said as he hugged Loki. "You will be the best father you can be, and when you feel like falling... I'll be right there to catch you." Loki cried, even more, Tony rubbed his back and let him cry. "I know things won't be easy, but I know we can do it. You don't have to be scared of failing, Loki. I'll be right behind you." Tony's voice was soft, it was soothing. Loki slowly stopped crying, he held on tightly to Tony. "Let's go to bed, babe." Loki nodded and wiped his tears. They both went upstairs and laid down in bed. Tony held Loki as they both drifted off.
The next morning...
Loki woke up in an empty bed. He sat up and looked around, "Babe?"
"I'm in here," Tony said, he was standing in the bathroom buttoning up his shirt. "I uh, went ahead and called a lady about Luna. We are supposed to go meet her today."
"Oh... so soon," Loki said.
"I hope you're not upset," Tony laughed nervously.
"No no, just... let me get dressed," Loki said as he stood up and went to the closet. He picked out an all-black suit. They got ready together and headed out. Loki drove of course. When they got to the building Tony led Loki inside to the lady he talked to on the phone.
"Hi, you must be Tony." She smiled and shook Tony's hand. "Luna is back this way." She led them to the room that was in Tony's dream. There she was. Luna looked at both of them and smiled. "Why don't we sit down and talk about her."
"Sure," Tony said as they sat down at the table.
"Luna is a special little girl. She can be a handful at times," the lady lowered her voice, "her parents were killed."
"How?" Loki asked as he looked over at the little girl playing with an Iron Man figure.
"We don't know. She was pretty shaken up though. She is going to a therapist at the moment. She doesn't open up to people very well, and she can get emotional at times. She does have nightmares quite frequently." The lady explained. "But I can assure you, she will love both of you unconditionally."
"We are prepared for anything." Tony smiled, "she will be loved and cared for, trust me."
"I don't have a single doubt about that, Mr. Stark." The lady said kindly. They continued talking about Luna for a couple of hours. Once they finished Luna was asleep on the couch. They got up and went over to her, Loki stood back as Tony kneeled down and picked her up. Loki grabbed her belongings as they headed for the door. Luna woke up.
"Are we going home?" She asked.
"Yes, sweet girl. We are going home." Tony said and kissed her head. They walked out to the car and Tony put her in the backseat. "Why don't you sit back here with her, babe?"
Loki looked at the little girl, "I guess I can." He climbed in the back seat as Luna crawled in his lap. They began to drive home. Loki was nervous, but those nerves soon faded. He felt at peace. He ran his hand through her hair, but then something happened. His hand began to turn blue, and so did her face. "Tony..." Loki said in a panicked tone. Tony looked back and saw what was happening.
"What's that?" Tony asked, getting worried.
"She's... a frost giant."
