Essence of Islam

Introduction of Part 1

Through reading a lot of books and by observing and listening to the people around us, I come to know that there are two concepts of Islam for which people have a lot of misconceptions and they misinterpret Ayahs related to these concepts. The major misinterpreted topics are: Status of women in Islam and Concept of Jihad in Islam. Many Non-Muslims and Muslim extremists believe that Women are being treated as inferior being in Islam as it is male oriented religion. Westerns, Some Arab people of Middle East (which are known as ISIS by world) and some ignorant Muslim people of our societies believe that men is superior to women so he had every right to beat her, correct her and treat her as he wishes because Allah has given him this right. Westerns and some so called secular Muslims think that hijab and veil is an oppression for Muslim women. For justifying their beliefs, they misinterpret Ayahs, and same they are doing with Jihad's teachings. After 9/11, Islamophobia or misconceptions related Jihad emerges in Non-Muslim masses. Some ignorant Muslims and Western people believes that 60,70 percent Islam is full of Jihad teachings. They believe that Islam is a religion of terrorism and for justiying their accusations, they gave the example of ISIS and its terrorism. They also misinterpreted some Ayahs of Quran, stating that Quran is full of teachings of terrorism. Westerns, so called secular Muslims and Non-Muslims are believing this stance that there is no peace in Islam, so it should not be followed and they a true Muslim is a terrorist. Some extremist or ignorant Muslims also believe in this stance and it caused them to become a part of ISIS and so called Mujahideen or Taliban in Afghanistan. Let me clear one thing here. These Taliban or extremists are not Muslims because they are violating the basic teachings of Islam, and different lobbies are supporting them for this vicious actions. These people misinterpret Quran which lead them and other people astray from the real path or real teachings of Islam. As Allah the Exalted has stated in His Glorious Quran

" And if you Obey most of those upon the Earth, they will mislead you from the way of Allah. They follow not except Assumption, and they are not but falsifying." (6:116)

So In this first part, I will discuss the real interpretation of those Ayahs and concepts which are unknown to these extremist Muslims and Non-Muslims. And will try to clear the misconceptions related to Islam.
