Jihyo's PoV

"Excuse me, May I know the room of Tan Ken?" I asked as I arrived at the hospital.

"Jihyo."

I looked at the person who called me and saw Dr.K wearing a scrub suit.

"Dr. K, I-I got the call... w-wher—"

"He's fine, calm yourself." She said.

"Follow me." She said and started to walk away.

I snapped and walked with her as she's still walking.

"His mother is still in the operating room. Ken has a light injury on his arm and his head, but nothing to worry about since we did a CT scan and no major injuries." She said with a sense of relief.

Not so long we arrived at Ken's room and he's still unconscious.

As I saw him fine, I came back into my senses. Suddenly thoughts kick my head.

I looked at Dr. K as she continues checking Ken.

"She's different, Ken doesn't like her too. I mean, the way she approached Ken, it's not the usual way how Y/N approached the kids."

I suddenly remembered what Dahyun said after she met Dr.K.

No, her concern to Ken is literally like Y/N's...

"Doctor K." I called up making her snapped.

"Yes?"

I looked at her straight and think.

"How did meet Ken?" I asked.

She stopped and stood up properly.

"He's my patient before."

"How did you know that I know him?" I asked right after she answered me.

As far as I know, I didn't mention Ken to her once. Or maybe Dahyun mentioned that?

I saw how her expression changed, she averted her eyes and bit her lip.

"Dr. K." I called once again as she's not responding.

She looked at me and sighed.

"I need to go, I still have patients to look after." She said and walked past me.

I just remained in my position as I heard the door closed. I don't know now if I should believe what I'm feeling.

I sighed in frustration and walked towards Ken.

The way Dr. K looks at Ken is like how Y/N will do if she'll find out this happened to Ken.

I know Ken has a place in Y/N's heart as I see it the time we are together. Y/N must be wanting to act older since she's the youngest in her family... in her so-called family.

I get my phone and dialed Dahyun to say the situation. After that, I decided to leave him first and to check her mother's condition as Dr. K mentioned that Ken's mom is also in the operating room.

"Jihyo-nim!"

I looked up as I heard someone called me and saw Lucas and Yuqi approaching.

"Guys, why are you here?" I asked confusedly.

"We're here to see the conditions of Mrs. Tan and her son."

"Ken is fine, I'm just about to see her mother if she's ok now," I said.

We three walked into the operating room and wait outside. Yuqi and Lucas explained to me why they are here.

"Yes, Jihyo unnie. We are actually on our way to get them—"

"Get?" I cut.

"Mrs. Tan asked a restraining order to protect her and her son. Just yesterday she went to our police department to ask for help."

"Why?"

"Actually there's violence happening in their home. Mrs. Tan thought that it was only between her husband and her but then she saw signs of beating on Ken."

My attention was caught as I heard that.

"What? Why you didn't make actions already as you got the report?!" I exclaimed.

We were cut when a doctor came out from the operating room.

"Doc, how is she?" I asked as I stood up.

He looked at me blankly and just sighed.

"I'm sorry, we tried our best to save the patient but the internal bleeding is so severe due to the fractures. If she was brought in the hospital earlier."

I sat back as I feel weak from the announcement.

"Unnie!"

I looked up and saw Dahyun with Momo.

"Dahyun, Ken's mom," I said and gave her a look.

She gasped and looked at Yuqi and Lucas who are now down also.

"How's Ken?" She asked.

I stood up and walked back to his room.

"What happened?"

"I don't know either. They came here due to a car accident. But it turns out that they are trying to escape on Mr. Tan." I said.

"What are you guys doing here? You should get that man already!" I uncontrollably yelled at Yuqi and Lucas.

"N-ne sorry."

I sat on the couch as I covered my face in frustration. I felt a pat from Momo and Dahyun as they sat on my side.

"I don't know how to tell him that his mother just died."

Third Person

In the middle of lunchtime, Y/N walked back to the room and saw Dahyun, Momo, and Jihyo.

Oh hell, she cussed as she saw the three.

Without any choice, she walks in with a nurse.

"Dr. K." Dahyun snaps.

Y/N bowed and looked at Dahyun.

"Aside from the injury in his arm, he also got some bruises and I saw it when you guys went here. Seems like someone has beaten him." Y/N said.

"Dr. K, his vital is stable." The nurse said.

Y/N nodded and sighed.

"N-noona." They all snapped as they heard the younger speak.

"Ken." Jihyo and Y/N called up in unison with worry.

Jihyo looked at Y/N confusedly but Y/N just ignored it and checked Ken again.

"Dr. K... I did what you said." Ken utters.

"I told mom that dad has been beating me. Mom told the police, we are planning to escape but this happened." Ken said to Y/N.

Y/N smiled and sighed.

"You need to have bandages, is that fine?"

"Ne."

Y/N looks at the nurse and signaled it to put a bandage on his arm.

"You look cool, Dr.K" Momo awed

Meanwhile, Dahyun and Jihyo looked at each other as if they are sharing the same thought.
