She's spiraling and I need to bring her back to the present. I know I fucked up by pushing her to talk to me about what's bothering her. She hasn't opened up about her emotions in the past and I should have known better than to press the issue. But I didn't know that it would send her off the edge. My mind starts going in to hyperdrive, how can I get her to calm down and stay? How can I convince her that I don't think she's a suspect anymore and this all isn't about the case?

"You really think that I am that delusional that I believed this was a real date? Please, Spencer I go on bullshit dates all the time for my work. I knew you had alternative motives for bringing me here and..."

I cup her face and my lips crash onto hers. Her initial shock washes away after a second and she kisses me back. But it's short lived when I feel her hand making contact with my cheek.

"What the fuck was that?" She yells at me.

My hand goes to my cheek, I would never expect someone of her stature to be able to hit so hard.

"You can't just go around kissing people!" She turns around and continues walking to the car.

"I'm sorry," I say following her, "you're right, I shouldn't have done that."

We get to her car and she turns around before she opens the door.

"Then why did you?" Her voice is filled with anger and hurt, "you're trying to convict me of kidnapping men across the country, you stalk me for months, and now you fucking kiss me? What the fuck, Spencer?"

The probability was good. If I kiss her then she'll be convinced that this is no longer about a case for me, even though it is. I needed to do something drastic otherwise she would have left. If I keep her here a little longer, maybe she'll open up about her past and give me vital information about where the missing men are. I can tell that she's angry and if I don't fix this right now, she'll leave and never speak to me again.

"I know," I run my hand through my hair, "you're right, I shouldn't have done that. I don't know what came over me. I guess I've been wanting to do that for a while and I needed a way to prove that this wasn't about work for me."

She crosses her arms and rolls her eyes but remains silent. She's not buying this.

"Look," I say, stepping closer to her, "I get it, that was aggressive and I'm not usually like that, I swear. I wanted to make sure you were okay but clearly I just made things worse."

She sighs and pinches the bridge of her nose, "that wasn't okay."

"I know," I say softly, I can't let her leave yet. "I am so sorry." I take another step towards her and lift her chin so she has to look at me, "Please believe me."

She smacks my hand away but her eyes stay locked on mine, "I want to. But I learned a long time ago that even genuine men with the best intentions will use a woman for their own gain."

She turns and gets in her car, speeding off before I can say another word.

I tap my foot nervously. Hotch called me in early this morning to discuss the progress on the case but to be honest I don't have much of an update. I can give him the most updated version of Sloane's client list that we've compiled, advise that she is set to inherit a fortune from one of her clients when he dies, tell him that Sloane knows that she's under surveillance which is why I believe the missing cases have stopped, but none of that is enough to break the case.
