Avery's POV
The wolves in my pack hate the pranks with a passion. They have no sense of humor! Well, they do when they are laughing at each other, then they love pranks, they just hate it when it's their turn! I try to set it up so I can hear, see, or both when I do a good prank. When I did the peppermint soap in the boy's locker room I snuck through the crawl space and put a baby monitor by the vent. I also try to record a video and or audio of the chaos and cussing so I could laugh at it again and again!
I know they also find it unnerving when the pranks prove someone has been standing over them while they sleep. Nobody likes that! I almost always do the pranks at night although sometimes while I am delivering laundry. But waking up to a picture of Edward taped to your headboard is both annoying and creepy. Wolves can normally follow a scent trail up to three days old so knowing someone was standing over you while you slept and not being able to smell them must be spine-chilling.
There are four main reasons why I get away with this. One, I can block my scent. Two, I have the Remote Monitor and can move the cameras or take the cameras out of the rotation so the guy in the office supposedly watching the monitors all night does not see me. Three, no one notices me most of the time it's like I am completely invisible to them. Number four, they don't think I am that bright. As far as they know I can't even read or write, my pack link is broke, and they think my mother was mentally insane and that was why she was locked up and they think I probably will go mad too.
So after thinking it through I've decided is to contact Eric by email. It's the simplest solution. I will create a new email account and send him a message and ask him not to try to find me. I know the Beta's brother is the security guy and he could probably find me with some kind of computer hacking thing or maybe he has a friend that could. I'm hoping that just asking him as his mate will be enough, at least for now. Even if he did hack me I think it would just lead him back to his own house.
I also want to be as honest about myself as possible. There's no point in him getting to know me and liking me if he's not liking the real me. I don't think this is gonna work out because he would have to like me enough to defy his father and potentially leave his entire pack. I can't stay here, everyone hates me. I just don't see him being willing to do that for me. He does hate me too after all. If we came face-to-face right now he would reject me or lock me up like my mom. I've tried to explain this to my wolf but she's a simple creature and I'm not sure she understands, she just thinks wants him and this is what she is like without feeling the full bond!
The first message will be super simple.
Dear Prom Guy,
Hi. I am the girl in the black dress, with black hair, brown eyes, and red lipstick. We danced for about two minutes at the prom together.
I was wondering if you want to talk about what happened between us?
I would also like to ask you a favor. Please don't try to find me with some computer voodoo. Let's give this form of communication a chance first.
Sincerely, The Girl in the Black Dress.
After I hit send I have a bit of a panic attack. I open one of my hidden files on my computer that has a list of all my lists. Lists calm me. The file name is 'Edible Bugs', and the first three pages are descriptions of bugs that you can eat and how you can eat them. Roasted grasshoppers, fried grub worms ... This calls for a real therapy session, time to bring out the big guns. Life Goals, Possible Pranks, Hiding Spots, Inventory of Treehouse Supplies, Inventory of Prank Supplies, Inventory of Hidden Food, Hints to Where My Loot is Hidden, etc.
