It had started off as a normal day, I woke up, took a shower, found an outfit, got my things for school, met up with Ashley and Kaitlin, went through the school day, came home, threw on a hoodie and sweatpants, got my head set and logged into the server, that is where it all went downhill.

When I had logged on I expected everything to be the same, we would all meet up at the clearing in the forest then go and play a few games before logging off and doing out own thing, however, when I arrived at the clearing, everyone was already there, seaming to have a serious conversation, but even the serious looks on there faces couldn't disperse the feeling of excitement rolling off them all in waves.

"Hey everyone, what's going on?" I asked as I walked into the empty spot between Brandon and Keith,

"Lucas, your finally here, we have been waiting for you," Brandon replied in an annoyed tone but the smirk on his face said he was happy to see me,

"Well I'm here now, so uh, what's going on?" I asked again when I got no answer the first time.

"Right well, did you hear about the VR gaming competition that's being held in LA?" Keith asked, being the responsible one of the group,

"Well yeah, what about it?" I asked, something in my gut screaming that whatever was about to be said, I wouldn't like it,

"Uh well, we were thinking of competing," Ryan said before anyone else could answer, unintentionally dropping a bomb that would turn my world upside down,

"Really, wow, um ok," I hesitantly replied back not sure what to say after that,

"So would you like to compete, we need 8 players and with all of us we have a good chance at winning," Keith spoke before I could say anything else.

I stood there, unsure of what to say, I could tell they all really wanted this, and they were waiting for my answer, if there tense posture was to say anything, but if I said yes, then they would find out I'm a girl and everything we have built over the past couple years could come crumbling down, but if I said no, I don't think I would be able to live with myself, knowing that they all really wanted to do his and I would be the one to singlehandedly crush all there dreams of winning this, so with little thought I said the one thing I would either regret or love,

"I mean sure, why not but how are you all going to get to LA and where will you stay?" I questioned, seeing the tenseness leave from there posture at my response,

"Ah well, we were all thinking of catching a flight to LA and finding a hotel to stay in, then we could all meet up at a café somewhere and get to know each other," Arthur replied back not even a second later,

Ah, I thought, that makes sense

"Wait, Lucas, don't you live in LA?" Xavier asked after a moment of silence,

"Yeah, I do, why?" I responded, not comprehending what he was asking,

"Could we stay at your place? I mean it would be cheaper than a hotel, and we could spend more time together." Xavier asked with a bit of hesitation,

"Oh yeah, that would be so fun," Ethan spoke, excitement filling his voice,

"well I mean if its ok with you..." he trailed off, and I knew right then that I couldn't say no,

They all stared at me waiting for an answer of any kind, hope filling there eyes,

"Alright," I sighed, a smile slowly etching onto my face

"YES!" they all whooped at my confirmation,

"So when are you guys planning on arriving?" I questioned after I realized I didn't know when they were coming,

"Well, I think next week would be the best idea, then we have a week to get to know each other before the competition starts," Daniel replied. Huh makes sense I thought to myself before it hit me,

"What are you all going to do about school,"

"Ah well, we would be taking online classes while you go to school," Daniel replied, probably having thought of everything beforehand,

"Yeah, then that works for me, would you like me to pick you all up from the airport?" I questioned, realizing they don't know where I live,

"If you don't mind, don't want to case unwanted trouble for you," Arthur replied quickly,

"No its fine, Oh I got to go, ill see you all tomorrow I guess," I spoke before quickly logging off, not giving them a chance to respond.

As I took my head set off, it finally settled in my gut what I just agreed to, a part of me was happy but my mind was racing a mile a minute of all the horrible outcomes my decision could lead to but before my mind could wonder anymore I decided to try and get some sleep, tomorrow was Thursday after all, I could talk to Ashley and Kaitlin and get there advice on this situation, so with my mind full I settled into bed hoping to get a good amount of sleep before tomorrow.
