Chaeyoung was quiet in opening the front door to her house as she decided that dealing with her dad was something she didn't want to do. She just wanted to trap herself in her room and worry about her dad later. But as if the devil himself were trying to kill her she had heard his voice before even stepping inside the house.

"How was your first day?" He asked as Chaeyoung stepped into the house cursing at herself for not being more quiet.

Chaeyoung turned to him and gave him a small smile, starting to walk up the stairs giving her dad the impression that talking was not a thing she wanted to do. Especially when it came to the talk about her first day at a brand new school. "It was fine," was all she said hoping that would calm his very evident nerves.

Her dad stood up from the couch setting what she assumed was an empty beer can on the table in front of him and walked up to the stairs contemplating on if he wanted to go after her or not. "Chaeyoung?" She took a deep breath as she turned to him once she was on the top of the stairs. She saw the way he stumbled upon his words and couldn't help but wonder what her old man was thinking so thoroughly about.

Her dad sighed and looked down thoroughly regretting even getting up from the couch to try and speak to her. But before he could say a simple nevermind he put his hand on the stair rail deciding that she needed to know what he was thinking, "I know things are not fine. I just-"

"I'm fine, dad," Chaeyoung interrupted him and he gave her a look of confusion. Maybe it was the fact that she had called him dad or maybe it was the fact that she interrupted him. He had thought that maybe she actually wanted to talk to him but after the interruption he knew it wasn't that.

He opened his mouth to try and get something out of him but Chaeyoung could only give a small smile as she spoke before him. "I promise," she said and with that she turned around leaving her old man on the first step wondering what that promise truly meant.

And she couldn't help but wonder what it meant as well but before she could go deeper into thinking she had arrived at her room. Closing the door behind her rather quickly letting out a deep breath at the freedom she finally was feeling.

She walked up to her window and looked to the house next door admiring the way the house looked as the sun set behind it. She grabbed her book bag, took out the notebook she needed, and opened it. She was thinking about drawing the house next door but the last drawing she drew at school was finally capturing her attention.

She put the notebook on the edge of the window making sure that the window was shut closed in case of any mishap. She quickly grabbed the chair by her door and set it down in front of the window hoping that the scenery in front of her would help her give her drawing some life. She sat down grabbing the notebook, hoping that she could finish the drawing before the sun set fully.

Chaeyoung's head lifted up, almost giving herself whiplash when she heard a loud thud. She looked behind her as if it was her dad but when she heard it again she could only assume it was from outside. She noticed the neighbors window open and she couldn't help but squint her eyes as she looked out the window and noticed three girls in the room making the loud ruckus. Her eyes widened at the fact that she knew one of the girls.

"Jennie," she said quietly to herself as she looked down at her drawing. She quickly closed the notebook, throwing it behind her as it now laid on the floor. She stood up unlocking the window knowing that this move probably made her look extremely creepy but she needed to be sure if it was actually Jennie.

Before she could open it fully her bedroom door suddenly opened, scaring her. "Fuck," Chaeyoung said under her breath as she slammed her window shut, slamming her finger in the process. She quickly pulled her finger out not really thinking much of it until she saw her lifesaver now in front of her with a worried look.

"Shit, you okay?" They asked as they grabbed Chaeyoung's hand looking down at her finger. Wincing in pain instead of her. She couldn't help but roll her eyes as she knew they were a big baby when it came to pain. But since it was her who was in pain they somehow felt it even stronger than her.

Chaeyoung pulled her hand away from them and bent her finger in front of them to show it was not broken. "I'm fine, Jisoo." She said simply as she turned around fully locking the window reminding herself to never open it again.

"You sure? What the hell were you doing?" Jisoo asked again as Chaeyoung turned the chair around sitting down on it. Jisoo quickly made herself comfortable on her bed as Chaeyoung knew that she did not care about her finger anymore since it was not broken.

"Drawing, that's all," she said as she decided that sitting on her hand would take her mind off the pain. Well at least she hoped it did, if anything it kind of only made it worse but she was not going to admit that.

"What were you drawing?" Jisoo asked as she sat up on the bed, her eyes now being glued to the notebook that was on the floor. Chaeyoung looked at the notebook swallowing the lump in her throat as she knew nothing good was going to come out of it. But she had to show Jisoo the drawing. She sighed as she grabbed the notebook, opening it to the now finished drawing, tossing it to her.

"You were drawing," Jisoo said rather enthusiastically but with the way her eyes widened as she noticed what exactly she drew her enthusiastic smile was now gone. "Jennie." And with that she looked at her with a fire in her eyes and to be honest Chaeyoung was truly scared to even look at her.

Chaeyoung groaned out loud as she grabbed the notebook, throwing it to the other side of her room. Not wanting to look at it but more importantly not wanting to see Jisoo look at it anymore. She had no idea what she was thinking of doing to it but she knew it was not to hang it on the wall. "I know Jisoo, I know what you are going-."

"Don't get-"

"Hurt," Chaeyoung finished for her as she looked at Jisoo who was now giving her calm eyes. "I'm not made of glass, you know, I can handle myself," she reassured her but with Jisoo shaking her head and now grabbing at her hair she couldn't help but question what exactly was so bad about Jennie.

"What's so bad about her?" She mindlessly asked as she looked back at the window noticing Jennie staring out of it.

"She's not a good person," Jisoo said with a sigh, not once looking at her. And although she should have left it at that it didn't answer anything. She could only feel herself get frustrated at what Jisoo was saying but she knew it would only upset her even further if she said anything that could rile her up.

"What did she do, Chu? Because I swear if she hurt you I'm not afraid to go up to her," she said as she looked at Jisoo, now seeing a tear fall from her eye landing on the floor with a small plop. Something she had not seen in a while. Jisoo was not one to cry so seeing her cry made her regret bringing up the topic of Jennie.

Jisoo looked up and took a deep breath now reliving the living hell Jennie had made for her, "She outed me, Chaeng. The reason why Lisa and I aren't together is because she outed me," she continued as Chaeyoung noticed the slight shake her hands were doing. "Lisa got scared that something was going to happen to her so she stopped talking to me."

It was the first time in a long time she had talked about Lisa to her and Chaeyoung could have sworn she felt the heartstrings in her heart tearing themselves apart as Jisoo was now once again broken in front of her.

"That's why," she cleared her throat as she noticed how broken she sounded. "I just don't want her close to you. In case, she wants to ruin your life too," she let out as she wiped the tears that were falling from her eyes. Chaeyoung quickly sat next to her and pulled her against her chest. She ran her hand up and down her back knowing she was still a girl trying to heal. She kept looking outside her window as Jisoo sobbed into her chest not knowing what was going to come next for her.

"It's okay. Everything's going to be okay," Chaeyoung quietly said to her as she locked eyes with Jennie who was now smiling out the window disappearing to who knows where. And in that moment she really hoped what she was saying was true.

"I promise you."
