"What can he do?" Cam blurted, breaking the silent air that lingered in the cop car, "To get me back?"
"Well," The female cop began, "He has to go to court and present to the judge proof that your dad is unfit. And that should be all."
Cam nodded in response, not knowing what else to say. She stared out the window. She recognized the area. She knew that they were going to be home soon.
But it wasn't really home.
She noticed how the weather was bad. Dark clouds covered the sun, indicating that a storm was arriving. She found it quite odd how every time she was upset, it stormed. It was almost like her emotions controlled the weather.
Cam huffed quietly to herself as they pulled into the driveway of the house. She looked at the house and immediately got a sense of deja vu. The last time she saw it, she was running away with the intentions of never going back. She wished she was doing the same.
There was even a split second where Cam considered running as she got out of the cop car. But, the police would eventually catch up and she would be cornered. There was no use.
The two police, as well as Cam, approached the front door. The male officer knocked on the door three times and was almost instantly invited in by Cam's father.
Cam felt a huge wave of anger in seeing her father again. But she felt more angery in seeing him act nice to the cops, knowing damn well he wasn't like that.
As Cam walked into the house, she noticed how filthy it was. The trash didn't look like it had been taken out since she'd left. He really was a wreck without her. But deservingly so.
"Cameron!" Her father exclaimed, smiling at her brightly.
Cam looked him with a stern expression. "Fuck you." She seethed before pushing past everyone and running up the stairs to her old room.
She quickly shut the door behind her. Her room was exactly how she left it.
The sense of deja vu was getting stronger. Especially when she looked at the closet.
She remembered huddling in there, scared for her life the night she ran away. It was all before the incident. The incident that gave her the scar on her stomach.
Wait.
The scar.
She remembered the scar. Most of the time, she forgot it was there. She realized that it can be used as evidence in court.
One point Cam. Zero points dad.
As she sat on her bed, she felt hope. Hope that Clay would pull through and get custody over her once and for all. Hope that she would be able to stream again. Hope that she would be able to see Tommy again.
If Clay failed to get custody over her, she would live with her dad for 3 more years. He wouldn't let her stream. Nor would he let her leave the country to go see Tommy. Hell, she didn't even know if he would let her have a phone.
She sighed, wishing she was home with Sapnap and Clay. They were wanting to play Jackbox together. They talked about it the night before the left for the UK, deciding on playing right when they got back. But things change.
