The only stake that had been upped was the stakes against Sirius's life.

Now that all three girls were in on Sirius's little game they all made individual efforts to deter him. Gwen, being Gwen, had chased him (and Remus) away with a long series of hexes four times already, Nova had made an a pact with the Prewett twins so Sirius was in constant danger even on the Quidditch pitch and Juniper started wearing trainers so she could walk faster.

Sirius was not one to be easily deterred though, he definitely made his efforts much to the confusion of everyone else at the castle; he'd left giant bouquets outside Juniper's room which perplexed all the girls because the stairs should have repelled him, he tried to walk her to and from lessons while reciting terrible romantic poetry and he even conjured a bunch of mini Irish Leprechauns (much to Nova's amusement) to yell compliments very aggressively at the blushing Gryffindor girl as she tried to focus in lessons.

"Oh for goodness sake, Depulso!"

Gwen snapped as they left their Potions class, the Leprechaun flying a good few metres away before disappearing.

"I've frankly had quite enough of that."

Juniper looked away from a small group of Ravenclaw's shooting her sharp glares, the Leprechauns had interrupted Slughorn the whole lesson so most people weren't big fans of her right now and for someone who enjoyed living in a daydream away from every and all eyes, Juniper found it stressful.

"Prewett's have somethin' planned for 'im later."

Nova mumbled as they reached the Gryffindor Common Rooms,

"Bee's wax. Whatever it is I hope they can finally get it through Black's thick skull that not everyone enjoys being the butt of a joke."

Gwen muttered as the portrait swung open. That was the moment obnoxious band music flooded their ears and bright red and gold birds littered their path with pale yellow roses; those very same birds flew up again after completing the trail, diving towards each other in a flurry of colour before erupting into the words 'One date, Fay?'

Juniper turned a vivid shade of scarlet at the odd stares students threw her way and the numerous whispers intertwining into the air. The Marauder's were splayed out on the Gryffindor couches, all of them, apart from Peter, grinning from ear to ear; Peter looked queasy instead as he studied Juniper's face, she looked very close to tears as mocking wolf-whistles echoed around them before finally bursting into a sprint up the girl's stairway out of sight, the taunting laughter probably still reaching her ears up until she slammed her door closed. Nova followed after her but Gwen clenched her fists, her wand falling into her palm from her sleeve,
