The Devil's Last Son(Book 1)

The Beginning

"Nicklas aren't u done already"my father shouting on top of his voice again checking if I'm done which is clearly not my dad because he usually cares less.
"One moment dad" I replied.
God I'm gonna miss my room and especially my bed. But hey, you got the admission. The best school in the country,all your effort didn't go to waste just embrace the moment. I look at the mirror for i don't know the 109th times, this is a new chapter in my life,wearing a blue colored T-shirt and a black jeans with a black sneakers not bad for my first day I guess. 6'3" in height, dark skin with a chiseled face "I'm in the competition for the handsome man in school" .I let a little laugh at my own lame joke.
"Don't let me drag you out myself" my father said it in a strict voice this time,without much complain I took my bag and left my room.
"Let go, time is of the essence" he said it as he opened his car, his Audi S5 sportback blue in colour.Its still feels like yesterday when he wouldn't let us sleep the night he bought this car "it is the latest car in town" he will say. I took a final look at our house and sat in the car since I'm the only child I've never lacked anything, and I've said my goodbyes to a couple of friends.We sat in the car in silence for the whole 2 hours.
"We are almost there Nick" my father said
I looked at the window and there it is in it full glory the Cladswell University,built in 1990, it has 10 halls: Maria Hall, Valco Hall,Atlanta Hall, Classio Hall, Overdale Hall, Elanza Hall,Acropolis Hall, Gables Hall,Orchard Hall and the most popular of them the Casely-HayFord hall the all boys hall,the only hall to win the inter- halls athletics 15 times in a row. But sadly I didn't get Casely-HayFord hall I got Acropolis rather the newly built hall, rumor in town says that, most of the new students will be admitted in the new hall because they want to make it popular as the traditional halls.And its not like you will choose which hall you want to go, they decide if for you. And what makes Cladswell the best university is the fact that,they have the largest library in the country,crazy right?.
My father slowed the car down as we reached Acropolis hall, no doubt its the most beautiful hall in the school,we went inside to complete every paperwork, as we were waiting, a tall fair gentleman approached us,
"We have to let your son do a test for us sir" he told my dad
I can bet there is something off about this guy, everything about him seems strange.
" No problem" my father replied.
I followed him to a room where they pinched me with a needle and took a sample of my blood
"Give me one moment" he said as he went into a room.
I waited for what like 5 minutes, the mystery man didn't come out of the room, all of a sudden I heard voices in the room. Did I forget to mention I'm the curios type so I leaned in to the door and listened to the conversation.
" What you are trying to tell me is that, he is a supernatural but you don't know his origin" a female voice said.
" Yes madam,I cross-checked his father's background and i can bet he didn't get it from him" the mystery man said.
"That's strange,can I have a look at his picture?" The lady asked, there was a moment of silent "admit him but don't tell him anything yet, I'll talk to the council of elders tomorrow and we will see our way forward" the lady said after being silent for 2 minutes.
"Ok" the man replied.
I went back to my seat and acted like I heard nothing but to be frank I'm concerned, I'm a....supernatural what does that even mean. That....
" You are clear to go" the man said after he came from the room.
"Clear?" I asked
"Yes,we wanted to check if you can play for our football team, judging by the results you can,the rest is up to you if you really want to play for the hall?"
He opened the door for me and I walked through
"What kept you so long?" my father asked
"My bad, sir" the curios man said "we wanted to check if he can really play for our football team and he sure can"
"Of course he can,haven't u checked his records,he won titles for both the football team and basketball team he played for back in High School" my father said with a smile on his face.
"Let's go Nick, we are done with the paperwork and your room number is Block C room 64".
A couple of guys helped me with my luggages and we went further inside and what I saw cured my curiosity. The basketball court was in the middle whilst building surrounds it, four buildings in all,each connected with a staircase, and on each building there is a writing on it,it reads"Block A" and the other "Block B" it goes up to block D. Block C and D have the highest floor with 4 floors each whilst A and B have 3 floors. And on each floor there are eight rooms. I couldn't help but stare at the basketball court again. I know I'm gonna make history on this court.
"You are in block C room 64 right?" one of the guys asked.
"Yeah" I told them.
We climbed the stairs of Block C up to the last floor and I saw the room number written on the door. We went inside and we saw a guy already there arranging his stuffs.
"Hi" I said "Name is Nicklas you must be my new roommate".
"Name is Seth" he replied in a low voice "and yeah I'm your roommate".
The room was not bad, first of all its spacious which is nice and also it has 3 beds, two of them is a student bed that is a bed which is on top of another bed something like a duo bed and the last one is a single bed which is in the middle.It also has a balcony where I can see dry lines there. There is one thing that puzzled me, the lockers are 4 instead of 5 since we will be 5 in a room.
" I guess you have to pick your locker" my father said.
I looked at the lockers and picked the first one, with the help of my father I settled down, he prayed and made his way towards the door
"And hey son, I'm proud of you" he said as he left the room.
"So...what course are you reading?" I asked Seth.
"Computer Science, you?" he asked.
"Social Science" I replied him.
I lied on my bed and was glancing at the ceiling. So... so far I've met one of my roommates, Seth, he seems lyk an introvert at least judging by how he talks. He is also dark but not like me and with an average height.
Its been a long day and I really need a rest.
" Messi is the best player in the world" someone said in a loud voice. Loud enough to wake me from my sleep
"But he is nothing compared to Ronaldo" Seth said.
So is the Ronaldo and Messi debate, it never gets old. I sat on my bed.
"Sorry if we woke you up" the guy said
" You are a Messi fan so no need to apologize" I said.
"Great, my name is Rick" he said.
"Nicklas" I replied.
My head is still dizzy but I looked at him he is fatter than I am and also a dark skinned guy.
"But Nick u seriously can't pick his side,look at the achievement Ronaldo has made in the world of football"Seth said not ready to give up.
"I know but Messi has also contributed to the world of football and after all he has won 6 balloons d'ors but Ronaldo has won 5" I argued.
" You guys are still arguing, seriously?" one guy walked in the room followed by another guy.
"Hey, my name is Prince, you were asleep when I came in" the tall dark guy said
I can compete with this guy in terms of who is fat.
"Nicklas" I replied " Nice to-".
"And I'm Spencer" the other guy interrupted me.
I can bet this guy doesn't work out and his potbelly is an evidence.
So all my roommates are dark in complexion, way to go.
"Hope you guys will go for the event this evening?" Spencer asked
"Of course the Fresher's welcome party, who in his right sense will miss that party" Rick said.
Fresher's what?? I have no idea and its not like I want to bail out,I really want to go,I do, but this was not part of my plans.
Seth said something which I couldn't catch.
"Hmmmm?" I asked
"I was asking if you will go" Seth said.
"Of course why not, I just have to grab something to eat then its parrrrty time" I said.
I quite remember I saw a cafeteria on the ground floor when I came in. So I got down to find something to eat and on the way I saw a couple of faces especially the ladies. I guess the rumors were true after all,all the ladies are beautiful those with cute ass,big ass those with big and small boobs and those with what we call the natural beauty.
I saw a couple of guys playing basketball and I stared at them whilst walking.
"Ouch, can you watch where you are going?" a lady complained.
God she is beautiful, just look at how her hair compliments her eyes.
"I'm sorry" I apologized "I didn't-"
"Whatever" the lady said and walked out on me.
She must be having a rough day I told myself and head towards the cafeteria but this time I'm focused on where I'm going.
I finished eating and headed back to my room to get ready for the event.
"So.. Spencer where will the event take place?" I asked
"On the basketball court" he said
Then there is no need for me to wear a fancy clothes I guess so I put on an ash colored top and a short with a pair of sneakers and waited for the event to start.
"Ladies and gentlemen please get out of your room and let's start the event" the voice ranged through the whole hall.
"Good luck" Spencer said
"Good luck?" I asked
"Yh, good luck trying to find a lady tonight" he said jokingly as he left the room.
We went out and stood on the floor,the moon shined bright as ever tonight and from where I am standing I can see the whole hall right in front of me
"And please,do well to socialize, ask for the ladies number,ask her on a date, tonight is your night" the lady who is going to host the event said.
"Wish me luck Nick" Seth said as he went downstairs to look for a lady.
I followed as soon as he left, I went to the down floor where I saw people crowded at the basketball court so I walked over to see what they were doing.
And surprisingly they were doing a dunk contest
"So we only have 5 participants anyone else" a man said
"I want to join" I said and I went forward
"Anyone else" the man said, he waited but no one came
" Let's start" he said
A tall guy took the ball and did a basic 360 dunk and the crowd cheered on. The second guy took and the ball and flopped at the end. The third guy took the ball and did uber athletic one hand and I got to admit its really cool, I even clapped.
The fourth guy took the ball and did a slam dunk and damn that was not a small dunk.
The fifth guy took the ball, did a little show with it and flopped at the end.
Now it was my turn, I took the ball, breathe in took a look at the rim and did a windmill at first I thought I will flop but it went in and the crowd went crazy.
"Without no doubt we all know the final three" the man said "please line up here"
"Nick what's up" a familiar voice said, then i remembered him, we won against his team in the final back in SHS
"Cool" I said "and nice dunk by the way" I added.
"Don't try and compliment me, I still remember what you did to me back in High School" he said in an angry voice " but university won't be the same I'm always gonna win anytime you and I meet starting from tonight".
"Continue dreaming on Stephen" I said
"Let's start " the man said
The guy who did the slam dink took the ball and did a double clutch dunk, not bad but it wasn't enough for the crowd to cheer him on.
Stephen took the ball and stared at me and let out a smirk, he took the ball and did a no look dunk,I mean for God's sake a no look dunk. The crowd was silent for a while then they started cheering him on and now its up to me to compete for the first place and the only one dunk that came into my mind was the historic jordan dunk.
So I went back and started the run, I let my foot off the 3 point line and up I go, suddenly I felt something strange happening its like I'm being pushed by something I don't know and before I can figure it out I was on my way down. And I missed the dunk if not for the rim which I hanged on I would have been hurt pretty bad.
I stepped down covered in shame I couldn't even raise my head.
" I told you Nick this is a whole new beginning"Stephen said and went on to take his award.
I still don't understand what went on so I decided to take a stroll to clear my head. On my way back to the hall I saw a lady arguing with a man
" I said I don't love you" the lady cried out.
" just let me go"
"But I love you so what are you going to do about it" the man said.
"Hey" I said in a bold voice
"You heard what the lady said or should I repeat it for you" I said.
"Stay out of it" he said.
"I wish I could but I'm a gentleman so I can't" I said it stylishly
"Then you and I have a problem" he said as he started walking towards me.
He has muscles, he has been hitting the gym but he walks slowly,that means he is slow thank God I'm quick.
Without wasting much time he went for the uppercut but he was too slow, I started dodging every punch he throws and counter attack him. Nobody told him to run but he just went back took one glance at me and run for his life the lady couldn't help but smile.
"Name is Nicklas, your knight in shinning armor" I said.
"Esther the damsel in distress" she said.
"Mind if I walk you to your room?" I asked
"Why not?" She said with a smile.
"Wait a minute, aren't you the lady I bumped into this evening,the one who walked out on me?" I asked.
"I....I'm...sorry I was in a hurry" she said
" No problem I understand, so how is your first day going?" I asked
" Um....I was almost raped by a guy I met today until my knight came and rescue me so....I'm not enjoying it...what about you?" She asked
" Well I was having a bad night and decided to take a stroll not knowing I'll turn into a knight" I said with a smile
And we both burst out laughing.
" Kk so this is my room B19" she said
" kk, goodnight then, hope I can see u tomorrow?" I asked
"Sure,why not and again I'm sorry about today,I -"
"I understand" I interrupted her "don't worry"
"So... Goodnight" I said
"Goodnight" she said with a smile and went inside
I went to my room and saw Seth on a phone call, I collapsed on my bed and started thinking about the day, first of all, I found out that I'm a supernatural which I know nothing of but I guess I will find out more about it tommorow, then that shift in the air whilst I was dunking, I still can't find any logic to explain it.
