Chapter 18

Lily's POV

"I can't believe he has a fucking girlfriend. Like seriously. I feel so stupid!" I groan as Telly walks into my room with sympathy snacks.

"I think you should talk to him but until you are ready I am here to tell you that you are not stupid."

"Oh yeah, well then why do I feel like it then"

"Because my best friend doubts her abilities as an amazing person because of twats"

"Twats?" I giggle

"Yes, twats, it's another way to pronounce men"

This sends us into a fit of laughter.

After about half an hour of ranting about this morning's events, going from how happy we were together to how dumb I feel to how stupid he is and then to how much he is missing out on me, we decide it's movie and snack time.

Two movies later and dinner is ready, we go downstairs and begin setting the table when the doorbell rings.

"I got it," I shout walking to the door. I open the door and instantly regret it when I see Colin standing before me.

"Hey angel," He says shyly. "Can we talk?"

I don't know what to say, so instead, I just step out the door, closing it behind me, and use my hand to motion him to talk. He takes a deep breath before starting.

" What you saw this morning is not what you think it was. I don't have a girlfriend." he pauses as if waiting for me to say something but I don't, scared of what might come out of my mouth if I do.

"Hannah is my ex, she is from my high school and we haven't been together for months. I wanted to tell you but I didn't think it would be a conversation about current issues because I thought I was done with her"

"So you're getting back together," I ask, dreading his answer.

He laughs, does this really seem like a laughing matter?

"No angel, we aren't." I let out a breath that I didn't realize I was holding, I seem to do that a lot around this boy.

"In fact, I met up with her today to fully kick her out of my life, something I should have done when I left the east coast" he steps forward and gently grabs my hands in his.

" But I do wish I had a girlfriend," he says and I look up at him, he wants to get back with her?

"Why to kick her out of your life if you want to be with her" I question and again he laughs. I pull my hands away from his making him stop laughing.

"Lily I don't want her, I want you"

"Ohhhhhh. That makes more sense," I say in a whisper. He takes my hands in his again.

"I'm so sorry I hurt you this morning, I really thought I was done with her but thankfully I am for real this time. Actually, I learned something funny today"

"Hm?"

"She's pregnant" my eyes have never been so wide. Did he get her pregnant? Oh goodness.

"What?" I choke out.

"Yeah the guy she cheated on me with who happens to be my high school best friend got her pregnant, it was so funny to see her like that" I laughed and I started breathing again.

"I need you to be more specific when you talk because you came here to apologize but you keep scaring me with your half sentences," I say in all seriousness and he laughs again understanding what I was thinking before.

"I'm sorry angel, I'll be more clear from now on" he laughs again as he pulls me to him. I let out a deep breath and hug him back. We stand like that for a minute. He kisses the top of my head and lets me go.

"I have to go now but I want to see you tomorrow ok?" he says and I nod.

I go back inside with a smile on my face and take my seat at the dinner table.
