Zero Gravity

My System for Poetry

After much consideration,

I have fabricated a system

for writing a poem

from phrase, to

line to

finished sonnet

I marshal my resources

take the material through

every stage, over

every hurdle in the

transformative process

until the

finished product reflects

a thing I could

not have anticipated, have not seen

but now you inform me

that these outputs must go

into the world, find

their way, cross to

other shores, reach for

the unknown by waters yet untested

and may be

long, long gone

whilst I wait what

seems like forever

here, in this place, surrounded

by scratched through efforts

summary failure

here

in this place where

I may never hear

one never hears.
