There is no dovetail
everything is incomplete fit
once the Velcro
started failing and
the post-its wouldn't post
and cards did
not fit the envelopes
and the stars could no
longer be hung each
on its appointed hook
and the sea
hugged the shore no longer
but burst its confines, overruled
its boundaries came
looking for us, its long-
lost children
but found drowned bodies and
drowned souls only
so much to say
about the sea: but who can
say, considering the
gaps and holes in my text
how it
could possibly fit?
