Mikasa was woken up by a soft knock on her door. She let Grisha in and with watery eyes he said,

"He is out of intensive care, he is not out of the danger zone yet but... he made it darling."

Mikasa let her own tears fall and pulled Grisha for a hug, then she asked him,

"Can I see him?", Mikasa asked pleadingly. 

"Yes, follow me, he is still unconscious but he is allowed visits now."

Mikasa entered his room and sighed in relief when she saw him. He looked so peaceful while sleeping. She expected to see more machinery around him, but he was breathing on his own, which relieved her. She sat on a chair next to his bed and grabbed his hand.

"We still have to wait for him to wake up to be sure that he is out of danger.", Grisha said. 

Watching Mikasa holding his hand with tears falling he said, "I will give you a moment alone with him before calling in his squad." 

Mikasa nodded and he left the room. It's been a month since the incident. Since then, after Mikasa's viral interview, more people started doing the same, and videos about the situation started to become viral quickly. Thanks to the online criticism Pro-Draconian groups have formed and were also rioting in favor of dropping the laws. Some confrontations amongst the groups with opposing ideals had happened, and that only fueled the videos about the situation bringing more people to join the cause. Finally, the topic wasn't taboo anymore, more and more people talked about it allowing different points of view to be heard. 

Mikasa looked at him with a soft smile, she placed her hand softly on his chest to feel his heartbeat. She sighed in relief when she felt it herself. Leaning towards his ear she whispered to him, 

"It's still beating... this is real... us... come back to me... come back to us... I'll be waiting"

Levi was playing with his brothers and suddenly, they disappeared, and his father was staring back at him instead.

"Dad?"

"Son, it's time to go.", his father said while the rest of his family appeared behind him.

"I don't want to go.", Levi said with a broken voice.

"Son, we will always be there for you.", his father said.

"How can I communicate with you? The white wolf doesn't like me and he already chose his human... No! I don't want to leave you. I want to stay here with you. I want to be with my family.", Levi said pleadingly.

His mother and father looked at each other seriously and asked him, "You can come with us, but, are you sure that's what you want?"

Suddenly, he felt a hand over his chest, then he heard Mikasa's voice, 

It's still beating... this is real... us... come back to me... come back to us... I'll be waiting...

His parents looked at each other and smiled. Then his mother said, "We will always be there Levi. We are your family and always will, but now, it's time for you to take care of your own family."

Levi looked at them confused and said, "Mikasa? My family?"

"Yes, a family of two, like me and your dad before we had you.", his mother said.

"The white wolf surely chose his human, but, you are her family so you can access it too, through her, but you will have to earn his trust first.", his Dad responded.

"Son, you know what you have to do.", his mother said.

"My own family...", Levi whispered.
