third-person point of view

another yawn escaped iseul's lips as she stared at the ground as she sat on a couch in the lobby of their apartment building.

it's 7:30 in the morning and she's waiting for her best friend so they could go to school together.

she leaned back on the couch and closed her eyes.

iseul!

iseul jolted awake and looked around to see who called her.

she glared at her best friend standing a few feet apart from her.

so much for waking up early, kim.

heh. sorry? i was up all night talking with jineul.

iseul forced a smile at him.

it's always like this.

sorry, heart. guess you'll have to endure this again.

to protect what they have, she miserably keeps her feelings for him to herself.

as long as she has him by her side, she can.

did you eat already?

not yet. i wanted to eat on the way.

okay, let's go.

youngdae takes her right hand in his and walked out of the lobby.

youngdae has a habit of holding hands ever since they were kids.

but now, it's a different meaning to iseul.

iseul stared at their hands together as they walk the road going to the convenience store.

what do you want to eat?

uh, i'm getting a lunchbox. i don't know if i have time to eat later cause i have a project to do.

okay, but later, at least eat something okay? we don't want what happened 3 years ago.

yes, mom. don't worry.

iseul and youngdae finished their shopping trip and went straight to school.

aside from being childhood best friends, they are also classmates and student council members.

iseul placed her food on her table as well as her book to study.

just as she was about to open her book, youngdae sat on the chair in front of her.

yah! why are you here?

why not?

you can't be here because i can't take it.
