i breathe in hyperborean air
but out comes fire
though i'm chilled to the bone
the dragon's waiting
breath of fire
bones of ice
tiz used to grab its paw
because of its fire scales
they pulled it along the pavement
for hand warmers in winter
but its bones
still froze
even when its blood was burning
trembling, but trying
to break free of the ice
release your piercing hold
we aren't playing games tonight
my eyes may never open
after her lullaby
wishing the darkest of threats
to be thrown away
the dragon is creeping
