Izuku sat back in his seat, looking at his phone as the world whizzed by on the train. The trip back from Kyoto was seemingly longer than the trip there. But every time he got worried, he poked at the red quirk that was in him. That also distracted him from the stickiness of his clothes. He really needed to change, but there hadn't been time.
Tomura had gotten him some juice from the vending machine just as the bus arrived. He'd drunk it quickly, which had made him feel much better. And then they'd made the connection back at the station to both trains and were now on the Shinkansen, on their way to Nagoya. It was the first chance he'd had to look at his phone. He was rather surprised that it hadn't rung today.
Surely Kurogiri had noticed them missing by now?
"Have you heard from Kurogiri?" Izuku asked Tomura. The teen was sitting in the seat next to him, gloved hands playing with his phone which was plugged in to charge. Tomura had bought them green class tickets especially for that feature.
"Of course not," the teen replied. "I blocked him."
"On my phone too?" Izuku asked, remembering that Tomura had asked to see his phone earlier.
"Yes, on your phone too," came the reply, accompanied by a bing that meant that he'd finished a level of some game. "What good would it have done to only block my phone?"
"Won't he be angry?"
Tomura rolled his eyes. Izuku got the distinct impression he was reconsidering why he had agreed to help. "We are doing this for Sensei," the teen told him.
The reminder helped. A little. Izuku still felt bad but for his dad... That was more important. He wondered why they just hadn't told Kurogiri what they were doing. The man probably could have gotten them to and from Kyoto already. Izuku shook his head once. It didn't matter. It was done now. Instead, he tapped through the phone's screens to the block controls. And there it was. Kurogiri was blocked. Same with Doctor Garaki. Gigantomachia didn't have a phone so he wasn't blocked.
His finger hovered over the button to unblock and then Izuku cringed internally. Even if this was for his dad, they were going to get into trouble. Tomura had slashed his clothes and they had gone without telling anyone. Maybe it would be better just to show up with the quirk?
Izuku returned to the home screen and ignored the way Tomura snorted. It wasn't like he'd unblocked Kurogiri!
Instead, Izuku went to his contacts. He remembered the girl at the station, Hatsume had put her contact details in his phone. He only had nine contacts, and that included emergency services, so her details were easy to find.
Mei Hatsume. He clicked the name. A quick glance told him there was no address, but even Izuku knew that would be stupid. There was however an extra line filled out. It was the title line. "Genius Creator of Invention Babies" was a bit of a mouthful.
From beside him, Tomura snorted. Izuku looked over to see the teen looking at his phone. "At least she was modest," he said with a shrug.
"It might have worked!" Izuku felt the need to object on Mei's behalf. As soon as they'd gotten to Platform 4, Tomura had dusted the finder.
"We didn't need it."
Izuku just gave Tomura a look. They didn't need it because Tomura had used his phone but they'd never know it would have been useful. And it meant Izuku lost his ¥500. He clicked save on the contact. She'd seemed friendly enough, and it now took his contacts list to 10. He felt accomplished at that. Though he knew he should remove Nasutto... he just hadn't yet.
Izuku went to his messages. There were a couple he hadn't answered today. He clicked the first. It was from Hitoshi. I don't want adventure. I want cats!
