Oh my God.

Magnus Bane managed to land a job.

Unbelievable.

He didn't even attend college!

How was he able to land this job?

This was like a fairy tale dream come true for Magnus.

He was walking home, earphones plugged into his ears, blasting Feeling Good by Michael Buble.

He hopped all the way home.

He was so happy.

And after a very long time.

Things were finally starting look up for Magnus.

Even though he just landed the job.

He arrived at downtown.

Above the Jade Wolf, where he previously worked part-time, he had a one room apartment above it.

He hopped up the stairs, took out his earphones, popped the keys in and twisted open the door to his apartment.

Kicking it closed, he took a few long steps forward and collapsed on the bed on his back.

He let out a sigh.

A sigh of relief.

A smile came on his face.

And a lone tear too.

Magnus wiped it and looked at his hand,

"Now where did you come from to spoil the mood huh?"

He laughed it off and then closed his eyes.

He took in a deep breath as his relaxed mind started digging at something.

He's forgetting something.

He sat up and his eyes fell on the Chinese lucky cat waving it's hand on his dresser.

Oh yes, Maia.

Magnus waited for Maia at the Jade Wolf.

They had exchanged contacts the day Maia was given her vacation.

And just fifteen minutes ago, he learned that Maia lived nearby and would be here in a short while.

Speak of the devil, Magnus looked up and a brightly smiling Maia entered.

She waved her hand gleefully, gladly came and sat in front of him.

"Wow, you look alive and much more happy compared to that day, not that I mind or jinx it."

Magnus said a little baffled.
