CHAPTER 03-CONFLICT BETWEEN THE MIND AND HEART

Swara gently rubbed Ragini's back and comforted her. She made her stand up and took her to their room. Ragini followed lifelessly without any further comment. Both of them changed into their night wears and headed to sleep but sleep was far away from both of them. One was thinking about the heartbreak she faced from her true love and the other one was plotting schemes to unite her sister and her friend cum jeeju but before that she had to make Lakshya realize that the feelings he had for Swara was only for her chirpy nature. It would be wrong to even consider it as an infatuation. She had to put some sense into his head and make him realize that he never had any romantic interest in her and Ragini would only be the perfect soulmate. With these thoughts she drifted into sleep.

On the other hand though Ragini was heartbroken her mind and heart drifted to think about the Maheshwari brothers. She thought about Sanskaar and how vulnerable he was in her absence and then her heart which beats only for Lakshya and it was still deceitfully beating for him. Usually her day used to end with Lakshya's thoughts but today it was the painful memories that finally made her sleep.

Though the Gadodia sisters eventually but it was far away for the Maheshwari brothers. Lakshya was a total mess. His hair was messed up, his eyes were red with rage and his puffed eyes clearly showed that he had cried a lot. He looked at himself in the mirror to realize that he looked as messy as his life was. He chuckled at himself and recalled the days events. When he told the truth to everyone his family looked at him with utmost disgust and hate. His mother was so broken that she said about him being a disgrace and she regretted bringing such a son to life. His father warned him to marry Ragini as the society would speak about him and he cared about nothing but his self respect. When he told that he couldn't accept Ragini as his wife when he had feelings for Swara his father roared at him telling that when matters come to his respect in the society he wouldn't mind disowning Lakshya before he made a BENGALI as his daughter-in-law. After all this commotion when Lakshya thought that finally he would be able to sort things out with his love, Sanskaar started a new chaos about meeting his Duppate-wali-dost. It finally took them the extreme step of giving him sedatives to make Sanskaar stop ranting about Ragini. Finally after crossing all hurdles he finally tried calling Swara only to realize that she had blocked him. He was infuriated by her reaction and he thought that she's doing this just because of Ragini. His anger on her (which was for some unknown reason )increased and he started to throw things around. He felt miserable and his mothers words Ragini is the only one who can bring you your happiness. She is your soulmate. Your feelings regarding Swara would fade eventually as time passes by. No one can ever love you as Ragini did. He knew that his feelings towards Swara was genuine and what Ragini felt for him was just an obsession. Although his heart and mind acting as conscience and fiend was confusing him even more.

Mind(Fiend-LAKSHYA IN A BLACK DRESS LOOKING LIKE A DEMON):Your decision was exactly correct. You never deserve an innocent soul like Ragini. Miss goody shoes is way too good for you.

Heart(Conscience-LAKSHYA IN A WHITE DRESS LOOKING LIKE AN ANGEL):She isn't way too good for you but she's perfect for you. Shed always love you unconditionally irrespective of you being rich or poor, her loyalty towards you or her love towards your family can never be questioned unlike your previous girlfriends. And I can bet on anything that Ragini can go to any extent for her love but Swara isn't like that. Swara is good in her own way but you both seem like siblings who are way too alike and always think about mischief and she can be your best partner in crime like Uttara.

Mind: Oh god have you lost your senses. Yeah that's right you don't have any you fool. How can you think of Swara being Lakshya's sister. That would be the last thought that even a fool wouldn't think of. Swara is so much similar to Lakshya. They would be the perfect ideal match. Moreover Ragini is such a behenji. Always in her anarkali. God I would be shocked if that anarkali would ever disco chali.

Heart: Watch your words. Ragini is a gem. I know that she isn't a party freak but I also know that she would never restrict Lakshya from going to the party in fact she would even help him and support him. And what are you calling her a behenji. Though she is in traditional wear all the time you cannot help but notice how cute she looked. And also I agree that I don't have senses but unlike you I have emotions and I know that Maa is right. Ragini is perfect for Lakshya.

Lakshya, unable to bear this turmoil, covered his ears and screamed: STOP IT. ITS ENOUGH USELESS TRASH TALK BOTH OF YOU NOW GET LOST.

Mind and Heart: WE ARE YOUR THOUGHTS LAKSHYA.

Saying this both of them disappeared. Lakshya closed his eyes and remembered he felt offended when the fiend said ill about Ragini and he also smiled thinking how Ragini would always look cute in her traditional wear with a tinge of blush adoring her face.

He shrugged his thoughts away and made up his mind to meet Swara and convince her to accept him and hence in these thoughts he slowly drifted to sleep. Ironically he failed to notice that he felt no anger or irritation when the conscience mentioned Swara as his SISTER. The fiend and Lakshya were sleeping whereas the conscience whispered The heart wants what it wants and slept with a content smile.

In another room there was another Maheshwari brother with a photo in his hand who was filled with various emotions. Rage, guilt, betrayed, anger, disgust and what not. His eyes were puffy due to crying and he was Sanskaar. He felt very bad for betraying Ragini who tended to him when people were trying to kill him. But then there were some flashes of the past that made his guilt fade away and with rage he said MR DURGAPRASAD MAHESHWARI. YOU RUINED MY LIFE. LAKSHYA DURGAPRASAD MAHESHWARI YOU WERE THE REASON MY LIFE WAS RUINED. YOU SNATCHED THE MOST PRECIOUS THING FROM ME NOW IM GOING TO DO THE SAME FOR YOU. KARMA'S GONNA BITE YOU VERY HARD.THIS IS THE PROMISE OF SANSKAAR RAMPRASAD MAHESHWARI. After thinking about something deeply he placed the photo in the drawer and slept off. It didn't take much time for him to sleep due to the sedatives.

The four of them slept in the hope of a better tomorrow oblivious of what destiny had stored for them.
