MILA

"Truth is I'm perfectly fine by myself"

***

When I arrived on UCLA campus, I was immediately greeted with familiar faces.

As I stepped out of my car, I grabbed my laptop and my purse and started walking out of the parking lot.

The sun was bright and warm, surrounded by clouds. Students were conversing with their friends, and professors were walking inside of the building.

Today I start my Psych 186D class. I've heard that Mr. Takhon can be hard on his students, but I needed a challenge this semester.

Other professors I've had were either horrible at appealing to students' brains or never showed up for classes.

I made my way inside of the main hall and there I saw Elijah flirting with some girl. We made eye contact for a second, but I quickly looked away. I hadn't thought about him since the beginning of summer, and I was totally over him, but seeing his face brought back unpleasant memories.

He cheated on me the night of my birthday, and he didn't have the balls to tell me himself. I had to find out through a video of him with some woman coming out of a bathroom on the schools gossip account the next morning.

I was going to take him back like a dumbass if Odessa hadn't talked some sense into me. Before Elijah, I was genuinely happy and care free, aside from the stress of finals. In some ways he ruined me, but in other ways I found he made me stronger. I've always fallen in love with any guy who looked at me twice, but after Elijah, I became cautious.

Room 134, 135... 136.

I had finally found Mr. Takhon's class, but the door was closed. When I looked inside through the glass, I didn't see anyone. I guess he wasn't in yet?

I stood next to the door for about 3 minutes, tapping through Insta stories, until he arrived.

Mr. Takhon was wearing a black button down, along with black jeans, and dark dress shoes. His hair was jet black and long, put into a bun. His face was mesmerizing. A chiseled jaw, thick eyebrows, fair skin, and brown eyes.

Why did none of his former students mention he was hot?

"Are you here for my 9am class, miss?" His voice was deep and raspy. I swear I almost moaned on the spot.

"Yes, sir. I am." I replied bluntly. Please don't tell me I got the time wrong.

"My apologies, I was running a bit late this morning. Do come in." He said moving to the side, opening the door a bit wider. "What's your name?" He asked, walking toward his desk.

"Mila Creed," I replied, still in the same spot outside the door.

"Well, Miss Creed, come in and find a seat."

I complied and took a seat in the second row. Other students were walking inside the room, chatting and laughing. A few minutes went by before He started writing his name on the black board.

'Mr. Takhon'

'Psych 186D'

"Welcome to Psych 186D. My name is Mr. Takhon. Today will be a pretty straightforward few hours. An introductory if you will," he continued, and my phone vibrated. I took it out and read the notification on my screen.

Odessa: Worst class of my life. Lunch today at 1?

Me: Duh. My psych prof is hot.
