MILA

"I'm obsessed with you in a way I can't believe"

***

As Theo's keys turned in the lock, my life must've flashed before my eyes because when I came to, he was standing over me with a look of confusion plastered on his face.

"Are you alright, Mila?" He cupped my cheeks and examined my eye movement.

"I'm fine, baby. How was work?"

"You don't look fine." He said, still trying to figure out what just happened.

I freed myself from his grip, and walked into the kitchen for a glass of juice. "Baby, I'm fine." I took a gulp of the apple juice.

"Have you eaten?"

"Yes, Odessa came by and dropped food off for me." I wasn't lying, but I barely ate with this baby on my mind.

"Good. Your father is firing our best accountants because they were seen at a strip club many nights ago. I wonder what he'd do to me if he knew how I treat you in the bedroom," he joked while taking off his coat.

My papa would most likely skin Theo alive and make me watch.

"Shit, I forgot to ask. How was the doctor's appointment? Everything alright?"

"Yes, just a little food virus," I lied, trying to sound as convincing as possible.

Which was a complete and utter fail because the next thing he asked me was why I wasn't looking him in the face.

So much for trying to avoid the inevitable.

"Theo..."

He inched toward me, his eyes locking with mine. "What is it?"

I took a deep breath, then leaned onto the countertop, and asked myself if I was really doing this.

"Please, just hear me out. I know this wasn't in the cards for us yet, but there's nothing I can do about it now," I sighed, unable to look him in the eye. "I'm pregnant, Theodore." Tears streamed down my face as I tried my best to croak out the words.

His eyes widened, and his hands raked through his wild curls.

There was a moment of silence, and I was ready to pack his shit if he didn't want to accept both me and our unborn child. But he didn't run away.

"Are you alright?" Was the first thing he said, but I knew he was just as stressed as I.

"Yes."

"How far along are you?"

"Six or seven weeks."

He walked closer, close enough that I can smell the sweat forming on his forehead.

His hands went to my barely showing stomach. The size comparison was mind boggling.

"Wow, there's a little human in there. Our little human. We made it. Together." I saw a smile form on his olive skinned face, and suddenly all the worry and hurt was a merely a smudge on a glass table.

I smiled, a genuine one this time. "Well technically, our little human is a clump of cells and then some. But yes, we made it. Together."

His lips met mine with a kiss, and then his large hands grabbed my ass.

I moaned in pleasure when he begins to run his fingers along the fabric covering my arousal.

"You have no idea how much I've missed this," he says, while sliding my panties to the side and massaging my clit, "God.."
