Chapter 1: Attempt

Nakatingin ako sa ilalim habang nakaupo sa nakabukas na glassed window ng 30th floor, I'm in a 60 story building. I can't tell if I am still in a real world or fake. I can't feel anything, as if I am just a piece of trash needed to disappear.
Should I just die?
Malalim akong napahinga bago dahan-dahang inihanda ang sarili ko, One more move forward and I'll fall. My body froze when an abrupt thud was heard below me. Nagitla ako kaya tiningnan ko agad ito at nakita ang lalaki na nakahandusay sa sahig! His blood spreading across the surface causing everyone else that saw him shriek, and go there.
Napalunok ako sa mga nakita, Lumakas din bigla ang kabog ng aking dibdib. 'Yung kaninang wala akong maramdaman ay nakaramdam na ng kaba. Lalo na nang makita ko 'yung ulo niyang...
Hindi ko kayang tingnan, parang nahilo ako bigla sa mga nakita. I was suddenly taken aback of my own actions. Ilang beses akong napalunok, at ang lakas ng kabog ng aking dibdib, napaayos ako sa pag-upo bago sinandal ang ulo sa dingding.
"Dito!" I heard the girl yell behind me.
"Shit," mas niluwagan nila 'yung glassed window sa tabi ko bago tinanaw ang lalaki sa ibaba. I only remained silent.
"Another one died," sabi ng lalaki, napailing ito at tiyaka napatingin sa'kin, mukhang nabigla siya na nakaupo pala ako dito. Dahan-dahan siyang lumapit sa'kin.
"Nakita mo ba kung paano siya namatay? Tinulak ba siya, o nagpakamatay?" I didn't answer him, but instead, umiling lang ako. I was also surprised.
He sighed and looked at my position again. "Bakit ka pala nakaupo dito? Baka mahulog ka niyan." he was about to touch me when someone suddenly approached us. Ang putla-putla ng pagmumukha ng babae, she looked shocked, tensed and ill.
"Guys!" she panicked rushing towards them.
"Blytha, are you okey?" the guy who talked to me asked her.
"I saw Melissa went out! It's my first time to see the gates open, and I bet she would try on luring teenagers again, we should hurry and warn them not to come here." nag-aalalang sabi nito at mukhang sobrang kinakabahan na talaga.
"Hey woah careful," tinulungan siya ng lalaki nang muntikan itong matumba. Biglang napamura ang babaeng katabi noong lalaki.
"Parami na tayo ng parami, bullshit, this is not getting any better, we should start taking actions." she complained at tangkang aalis nang pigilan siya kaagad nito.
"We never know what might happen to us. It's better to leave it alone. Someone powerful must have ordered Mellisa that we should never interfere," kumunot ang noo ng babae sa sinabi ng kanyang kaibigan.
"What? Then what should we do? Pabayaan na lang? Come on Miles. We all know that this place is a living hell. And I cannot take this anymore! I couldn't take another glance of other people killing each other and especially attempting to kill themselves because of the situation!" she told him and sighed frustratingly before grabbing the collar of the guy. "Let's pull this together Miles. Help me this once," pagtatapos niya at binitawan ito.
Napahimas lang ng ulo si Miles. I could totally see the frustration was transparent building inside of him.
"Darn it Ashley fine!" he looked away angrily and sighed. "But what if something might gone wrong?" Miles expression became worried and his voice toned down. Ashley scoffed and shrugged letting Miles face her again.
