The two souls roamed the streets, heading back towards Baur's Reach. Ori was on top of Vini's shoulders, getting a piggyback ride towards their destination. As they reached the foot of the mountain, Ori began to ask about what had happened since his departure. So, he decided to explain most of it.
...
"So, Seir took you from your world, not just to ressurect me, but to help you as well?" Ori asked.
"Yeah, I guess you could put it like that." Vini said, grunting as he trudged up the mountain. "He wanted to save me from some... painful parts of my past."
"What parts were they?"
"I... I r-really don't want to talk about it. L-Let's just say that... I'm not all sunshine and rainbows. I get that Seir wanted me to be happy, and I thank him for that. But still, he lied to me about a lot of stuff. Hopefully, he can learn from his mistake."
"Vini, he didn't want to hurt you. He knew of your painful past, and didn't want you to feel that pain again. He just wanted to keep you safe."
"Ori, no matter how one tries to hide the truth, it will always be revealed with time. Not to mention he threatened me to keep my mouth shut about your situation. I can't forgive him for that, and you shouldn't either."
"I... I know..." Ori spoke sadly. "But, I still feel that Seir had a good reason for what he did."
"... You are waaaaay too nice." Vini smiled.
"And you are way too depressed." Ori smirked as he bopped Vini on his head.
"I-I'm not depressed! I-I'm just... thinking." Vini stuttered.
"Thinking about being depressed. You need to lighten up a little. Do I have to do that again~?" Ori giggled.
"N-NO! I d-don't n-need... that again!" Vini shouted, pretending to be afraid as Ori laughed. Honestly, he wouldn't mind it, but right now is the time for an emotional talk, because he knows he might not have much time left. He may not get another chance to see him again.
Eventually, they reach the area where Vini started, seeing a small shimmer of light comb the entirety of the area. Vini sat down in the snow, very tired from the almost non-stop climb they made. Ori got off of his shoulders and laid his head down on his right leg, looking up at his friend, savior... and secret brother. Vini gently pet the top of Ori's head, as Ori closed his eyes in delight.
But, he has to get down to business. He took a deep breath, really not wanting to make Ori feel depressed and upset again. But, this might be his last chance to talk with him. He had to let him know.
"Ok... so Ori?" He looked up towards Vini. "Right now, Sein is busy casting the spell to separate our souls. Soon enough, you'll wake up in reality, and my fate will be decided." Ori sat up, and looked at him with a sad gesture. Yeah, I knew this was going to happen.
"I... I don't want you to go..." Ori said sadly.
"I know... I don't want to go either. Honestly, if I had the choice, I would sacrifice all I had if it meant me staying here in this world with you, Ku, Naru, and Gumo. But... I don't have that luxury." He looked down towards Ori with a faint smile and lifted his chin. "Whatever happens, I'll be content... so long as you are happy to be with your family again."
"B-But... Vini... I-I... I love you..." Ori's tone was emotional, powerful, as he was speaking the truth. Vini was slightly surprised at his words, and smiled down at him. He felt a small tear roll down his cheek, as he picked Ori up for a hug.
"I... I l-love you too... Ori..." Vini said.
The sky started to glow brighter and brighter as Ori cried softly into Vini's chest. Vini looked up, seeing the sky grow more radiant with time, and started to reflect on what he learned through his journey. His previous life was one with a lack of trust for anyone. His fate would have been sealed without Seir's interjection. However, through Seir wanting to help him out, he got to experience a true relationship with people, a family, although they weren't his true family. However, he only got there through more lies and deception, not just to himself, but to Ori as well.
