So... now what?

Hello there!

(Been a while since I could talk in normal text, huh?)

So, there's obviously some stuff I want to discuss. But first, before anything else, if you want to, please let me know your thoughts on the entire story overall. Being my first "public" work, it would definitely give me insight that I couldn't find myself. Compliments, Story Discussion, Questions, Constructive Criticism, any type of honest feedback will definitely help me improve as a writer, especially since I plan to keep writing and publishing stories in my spare time.

Second, I think it's time I said... well... thank you. Honestly, when I put out the first chapters of this story, I was terrified for the future reactions from all of you.

What if it didn't make sense? What if the story is too weird, or offends certain people? What if there are things in the story that are uncomfortable for others, or just plain weird in general?

I kept running through those thoughts again and again. And, if I'm going to be completely honest... I originally intended this story to be completely private, only keeping it to myself as a reference (for many personal reasons). But, now that it's out there, I kind of feel... relieved in a way. So, thank you for reading this awkward dive into my psyche.

So...

What's going to happen next?

Well, as some of you can probably tell, I left the story on a sort of cliffhanger, with Seav and the Spirit Blossom, Norin and the Spirits of Old, all that. I feel like I would be able to write a completely new story around that... but that's not going to be happening anytime soon.

For one, if and when I do start writing a sequel to this, it would probably be a complete change in tone and premise. And two, honestly, I don't really want to write about that right now. Writing something like that would take a lot of planning, which would be very different from this story, as I just wrote what my heart wanted me to write. But... that doesn't mean I don't have any plans for the world I created.

As I was publishing this story in its parts, I decided to try and take a load off of Vini and his family. Writing about pain and sadness all the time gets me all riled up. So, I've been taking my time to create something pretty and nice for a change (you might have even seen little hints of these in the actual story), giving Vini time to enjoy a life with his new found family. So, I took the time to create some short stories! 😀

I've been writing multiple of these since the publishing of this story began. Now, these short stories won't be published yet. I want to have a backlog of sorts for these stories to come out regularly, and I feel that these stories will be published on a weekly basis rather than a "Whenever I feel like it" basis. It's something that I've been wanting to do for a while now. Since I'm constantly thinking about what I'd do for the sequel, some of the short stories may give little details or hints about what exactly happened regarding the Spirits of Old.

But, to help me come up with these things, I'd appreciate some help. If you want to, please give some ideas for some of these short stories. (Call them requests if you will, and honestly, they can be about anything really. Happy stories, goofy stories, emotional stories. Mostly anything goes, with a few... exceptions.) My mind is usually so narrow when it comes to creative activities for stories, so some ideas from other people would help me a whole lot with the production of these stories. Of course, I'll give you the credit for the idea when I finish and publish it.

Still, it might take a bit for these stories to come out. The reason for that is because for one: School is starting again soon, and I need to focus this year above all other years. And two: I maaaay be working on a completely different writing project.

One that has nothing to do with Ori, and is much more complex to write than this one.

Anyways, that's all I wanted to say! I hope you all enjoyed my wacky ride of a story, and that you all stay safe in these crazy times.

Hopefully, I'll see you sooner than later! ;)
