[Third Person Pov]

Levi slowly pushed open the door causing a creake noise to welcome him into a dark room. The room was utterly dark only the moonlight escalated through the window was the source of light.

He sighed and moved inside and went towards the candle stands to light them up.

It was night time, the day seemed to be much colder because of the rainy weather. Levi left the building this morning after checking Erwin's condition and wandered around the place alone, to clear his mind.

He was out all day since everyone was resting after a big hectic fight and there was no work. Instead of being in the four walls of his office, he chose to go out. But the walls inside his mind still suffocated him even when he was in an open area, full of fresh wind.

And one of the reason was today Hange came upto Erwin with a theory which horrified Levi. After doing some research in the titan affected villages and that no hole was found in the wall, there was a chance that all these titans were humans.

And this particular thoughts has been horrifying Levi ever since it came out of Hange's mouth.

Because that would mean all his life he did nothing but killed humans, his own people.

He took off his blazer, hanged it behind the chair, and sat on the chair with a sigh. His white shirt perfectly clapsed around his muscular physique, with upper two buttons undone. His elbow rested on the table as he massaged his temple with his hand.

He could feel the cold winds through the window, making contact with his skin. A soft knock took him out of his thoughts.

"name and business."

"Jean Kirstein sir!"

"Get lost." He spatted out, too exhausted from the younger boy's tries to let him go for a search. If Levi remembered clearly, it is Jean's fourth intrusion in his office and each time he parroted the same thing.

"Captain, its important." He opened the door and took a step inside instead of the clear orders that Levi doesn't want him inside.

"Too bold, going against my order Kirstein?" Levi growled lowly, his voice was very low and scary.

"Section Commander Hange sent me.."
Levi leaned himself back into the chair with a sigh, closing his eyes due to irritation and exhaustion while gesturing his hand to Jean to speak further.

"there are some survivors.. they came back."

Levi just sat there in the same position zoned out, without listening clearly to what he said. Thinking it must be Hange again, asking him to treat his bruise on the jaw, which he hadn't treated yet.

Then it clicked him.

As he opened his eyes and looked at the brown haired boy with furrowed eyes.

"what you just said?"

"there are survivors-"

He didn't need to hear further. He stood up abruptly and rushed out his office without letting the boy finish his sentence.

He walked into the corridor with hurry, his heart thumping against his ribs. He turned a flight of stairs, then another. Going straight to the infirmary.

He forgot to ask Jean where Hange wanted him to be but just a common sense, if there were survivors, they would be in only one place - the infirmary.

As he reached the medical room, he ran towards the only room which was illuminated. Other rooms were dark, since it was past curfew, everyone must be asleep by now.
