Burned in the soft hourglass of time
Heat fogged up the glass, blind to the calendar lines
Windy pages flew as I melted away--getting cavities
Falling through the waving hoops of life's spoiled existence
I've passed some clocks and haven't been at peace
All I do is breathe in flowery trees and fall into silky sleep
You pry my eyes open with thundering daydreams
but your infectious smile can't sing to me
My childhood candied heart drifts away
In the grotesque money sea
I'm left with steep nostalgic grief of adjustment
and I've lost possession, lost my warrant
To anything in life that used to be important
