The dark veil of unconsciousness began to slowly fall off my eyes, like a curtain being opened abruptly as light flooded my vision, my head pounding.

Slowly, I drew myself to prop myself up on my elbows, taking in my surroundings.

There were chimeras everywhere- it almost was like they had multiplied since I had last seen them. We were in a giant room- a passage on all the surrounding walls- which were made out of dirt and stone like they had dug the place out of the ground and hadn't bothered to put anything over the Earth to cover it up.

The passages led so far into the distance that the ends were blotted with darkness- that is if it didn't just keep continuing into the distance. Heavy looking wooden gates were bolted open on each of the passageways, as to let the chimeras spill out into the halls. The only thing that could point to any signs of something having lived here  at any point was a water faucet in the corner of the room...

And then there was the bed I was laying on.

It was massive- about as long as a truck and as wide as a full-fledged room, In any ordinary bedroom it would've filled up the entire space.

For its size though, It wasn't all that comfy- the mattress was broken and I could feel the occasional loose spring poking into my shoulder blade, the pillows were so large that laying your head into them just made them close in on itself, suffocating you. There was no headboard, and the base and frame seemed to be made out of shipping cargo box scraps. As for the comforter, it was sort of itchy and covered in chalk tons of dust- slight markings cutting through the dirtied surface, markings of knees and hands and a body being dragged onto the bed.

Whoever had used this bed before must've been massive- and probably dead by now with how long ago it seemed to have been last slept in.

Despite it all, it felt like I was floating on a cloud.

I dragged myself to sit upright, and recognized the biggest problem I faced.

I was currently shot full of holes.

Without hesitation, I started to strip off my shirt, to which I heard a soft exclamation of surprise and embarrassment.
"H-HEY!!! STOP THAT!!" Nothing's familiar voice cut through the chatter of chimeras.

I paused, letting my shirt flop back down over my chest. It hit my skin with a wet noise that made me cringe.

"You could at least warn me before you're going to strip." They grumbled.

"Well take this as my warning- I'm taking my shirt off" I said, commencing to strip myself of my shirt.

I tossed it to the ground, where it landed with a disgusting splat.

...

There probably wasn't any hope of it ever being clean again.

I brushed my fingers over my wounded arm.

A bandage had been hastily wrapped around my wound- messy ribbons sticking out and some spots having been torn out of frustration. Blood splattered the cloth due to the shoddy work of whoever had tied it. However, it wasn't letting any blood out anytime soon.

Just like it wasn't letting any blood flow to my arm- it was tied too tight.

"Hey! Do you want to bleed out?! I know it might not pretty but it's not gonna kill you!" Nothing snapped.

"Well actually... you could've made me lose my arm here." I said, letting the bandages unravel and fall onto the bed, "You tied it so tight my blood couldn't circulate through my arm.". They made a choked growl of frustration.
