i would have watched the flames bounce on my skin till there was nothing left but ashes and bones
just to feel something
but you held my hand and extinguished the need to feel so much pain
(I thought pain was all I deserved until I met someone who showed me kindness in everything they do. And I set fires until I could accept I deserved more)
