I didn’t want Baldovino to go through the trouble of having to leave his car and make his way to my penthouse, so I made my way to him instead. I stood in the elevator with my soldiers surrounding me like they always do, while my mind was overrun by different thoughts. The most important being; will Baldovino like what I’m wearing and how I look?I was his date and I made sure that I would look the part to be the woman standing beside him. I knew I looked beautiful, no one could deny it because the dress sat on me far better than it did on the mannequin and my figure looked exquisite. The long train of the dress took me to a different level of glamour and elegance, and white seemed to be the perfect colour on me. I smoothed my hands over the fabric of the dress, before my eyes glanced down at my coral coloured stiletto square shaped nails. On a daily basis, I keep my nails short and natural because I don’t want to have to deal with the upkeep of nails every day but when I did put on nails, I liked to go all the way out. The nails were tastefully long, long enough to be noticed but short enough to not look like claws.
I wore a pair of Prada coral coloured suede platform sandals and my makeup was flawlessly done in a way that it appeared to be a soft glam with my eyes having the most colour. My eyeshadow was perfectly done to match with my coral nails and shoes, and to also make the dress and my eyes pop. The rest of my face was much gentler and quiet, with soft contour and light lipstick with a little lip gloss to moisturise my lips.
The elevator doors opened into the lobby and we all stepped out. I could tell that all the people who were in the lobby were looking at me but I didn’t think about them because I was nervous about only one opinion. The doors opened and I smiled at the doormen who all nodded their heads at me. Just feet away, at the curb before the doors of my building was parked a Rolls Royce Sweptail and Baldovino who was standing outside of his door, leaning against the car.
Baldovino looked breath taking, as he always does. He was wearing a Giorgio Armani two piece wool tuxedo that held him at all the right parts and seemed to be made for him and him alone. He wore a pair of Roberto Botticelli black patent leather shoes that shined under the lights.
I looked down for a moment before I smiled at him, making my way towards him as he stood there, looking me over while giving nothing away. When I finally stood in front of him, he captured my hand in his before he lifted it to his lips and kissed my knuckles. My eyes slightly widened because the action took me by surprise. “hi,” I said breathlessly as he lowered my hand from his lips.
His intense gaze took me by surprise even though I should be used to it by now. He was silent for a bit, his eyes peering into mine, and it felt as though he was reading every thought and listening to every beat of my heart. “you’re the most heavenly woman I’ve ever set my eyes on.” He stated bluntly, but his voice softer than his usual monotone voice.
I couldn’t stop the smile that widened across my face even if I wanted to. My heart skipped a beat and a zoo was let loose in my stomach as I looked down and away from his gaze. “thank you…” I whispered, looking down and away from him because he suffocated me.
He opened the door and stepped back as I entered the luxury vehicle. He got in after I did and closed the door behind him. There were bottles of whiskey readily available for us and I sat patiently as he filled my glass and then his, before he handed me my glass. I looked at the strong liquid, excited to drink it. “whiskey tastes different when I drink it with you,” I paused, looking at him, “it tastes better.”
He was silent and I raised my glass in his direction, “we should have a toast first,” I began with a smile, tilting my head, “it’s my first dinner with any of you, so we should toast first.”
