Demi

I jumped at the knock on my front door. I glanced up from the sonogram in my hands. I forced a smile on my face as I pushed myself to stand, hiding the sonogram beneath the pillow. I unlocked the front door, my hard stance crumbling at the sight of Dallas who had Hallie sat on her hip, the excited 18 month old instantly reaching out for me.

"Demi?" my hand covered my mouth as I sobbed. "Honey?" Dallas lowered Hallie to the floor. Her little arms wrapping around my legs just made me cry harder. "Dem?" Dallas stroked her fingers through my hair and then wrapped her arms around me, bringing me into her. I nuzzled my face into her neck and sobbed. She didn't question me further, she just allowed me to cry into her. I eventually managed to calm myself and I pulled away from Dallas with a sniffle. I wiped at my cheeks and then glanced down at Hallie, the sight of her just made my tears worse.

"Hi Honey" she held her arms up. I didn't hesitate to scoop her into my arms. She gives the best cuddles. I held her against my hip, my hands in her hair as she cuddled into me. I eventually caught Dallas' concerned gaze and I sighed. "I-I..." I shook my head and began into the living room, Dallas following behind me. I moved the pillow and grabbed the sonogram, handing it over to Dallas who's mouth instantly dropped. Her whole face filling with surprise.

"Oh my god" her smile grew to be enormous. "You're pregnant?" I nodded, lowering myself down onto the couch.

"6 weeks. I was only supposed to go in to get more birth control, ended up coming out with a baby" I smiled down at Hallie who stared at me with concern, her hand moving to my damp cheek.

"Boo-Boo?"

"No, Honey" she giggled as I kissed the palm of her hand.

"Does Odell know?" I shook my head as I kept my eyes on Hallie who cuddled herself back into me. I pressed a kiss to the top of her head and ran my fingers through her hair.

"He's training at the gym. I-I was supposed to head over there after my appointment but I didn't."

"How do you feel?" Dallas sunk down to the floor in front of me, her face full of concern.

"I heard their little heartbeat" I lightly smiled as tears welled in my eyes. "I saw them on the screen and I couldn't not love them" Dallas' lips spread into a smile. "I just-I don't know what Odell's going to think. What if he doesn't want this baby? I'm going to lose him" Dallas shook her head as she moved to sit beside me. She wrapped her arm around me and pressed a kiss to my temple. "I don't want to lose him, Dallas. I've never felt like this about anyone. I've never loved anyone so much."

"He won't leave you, Demi" I allowed her to comfort me as I continued to cry softly. My phone vibrating on the coffee table broke the silence that settled around us. Dallas leant to grab it, handing it to me with a light smile. "It's Odell" I hesitated over the ignore button but Dallas' raised eyebrows made me sigh. I accepted the call and placed the phone to my ear.

"Hi Babe."

"Hey Baby" I internally cringed at the nickname. "I thought you were coming over to the gym. Everything okay?"

"Yeah, I..." I met Dallas' gaze which was an instant mistake.

"Don't you dare lie to him, Demi" she spoke under her breath.

"No, I-I suppose everything's not okay" a teardrop rolled down my cheek as I glanced at Hallie who had her hand pressed to my stomach. "Can you come over?" I cursed myself out as I sniffled.

"Yeah, Baby. I'm just leaving the gym now, are you okay?"

"Not really. I'll see you when you get here."

"Baby, you're really worrying me. What's wrong?" I shook my head and swallowed the lump from my throat.

"It-It can wait."

"I love you, Demi, so fucking much" I lightly smiled but it didn't help to comfort me. "I'll be with you in 15, Baby."

"Okay. I love you too" I dropped my phone onto my lap once I hung up, cuddling myself into Dallas as I broke down. She ran her fingers through my hair, her lips pressed to the top of my head.

"You're gonna be okay, Honey" Dallas held me until I'd calmed myself. She disappeared into the kitchen to grab a glass of water. It was then that a knock sounded on the front door. Hallie squealed as she threw herself off my lap and I lightly laughed at the way she toddled towards the front door. Her toddle was somewhere between a run and a walk. I lifted her onto my hip as I opened the front door to reveal Odell. He had a look of pure confusion and concern but the smile on his face widened as Hallie threw herself at him.

"Hi Hal" he took her and I smiled as she cuddled into him. "Hi Baby" he leant in to peck my lips as my stomach filled with butterflies. "You've been crying" the concern on his face grew as he gently wiped my cheek. Before I could reply, Dallas stepped from the kitchen and took Hallie from Odell.

"I'm going to leave, okay? Call me" I nodded as she leant to press a kiss to my cheek. I waved bye to them as they left, my focus then being pulled to Odell who took a hold of my hand.

"What's going on, Baby?" I kept my gaze down on the floor. "Demi?" he cupped my chin in his hand and turned me to face him. His voice slightly stern. "What's wrong?" he wiped away the single teardrop that rolled down my cheek.

"I-I've screwed up" his eyebrows furrowed.

"Baby, what are you talking about?" I pulled myself away from him and began into the living room.

"They-They had to stop my birth control" I instantly spotted the sonogram on the arm of the couch.

"Why?"

"Because I'm pregnant" I took the sonogram and turned to face Odell, keeping my eyes off him as I handed the sonogram to him.
