A Date With My Mind

I'm stuck between two different worlds,
the cyber world and the real world.
The cyber world is the reason why
I find myself chasing time.
The real world is quite boring
because it's so quiet and lonely.
The only friends I have are only on social media.
I tried having friends in the real world,
but distance always made us grow apart.

I'm wired in.
I'm addicted to the constant laughs,
I seem to be more happier in the cyber world.
Time still remains an issue,
I find myself wasting days, weeks and months on social media.
I think that I'm doing something,
but in reality I'm doing nothing.
All I'm doing is switching between apps,
liking and commenting on pictures -
That's it really.

I refuse to be wired in.
I grab a book and I discover a new world...
A world where my mind runs wild.
Time seems to be on my side,
so I continue reading another chapter.
I'm finally at peace.
