As i stood by the sidewalk;
looking and gawking,
the world went on.

masons cycled back home;
covered in sweat,
the beads of relief dripped down their temples
as they went on.

strangers walked and jogged;
with either the mind to cook a new recipe,
or get their health back on line,
either way: they went on.

flocks of birds flew up in the sky;
food in their beaks,
as they flapped their wings back to the hatchling,
they went on.

you stood there;
feeling miserable,
shedding the pearl beads out,
and they still went on.

oh, dear, stand up;
stand broad and tall,
unleash your true self,
let those colours paint the black and white world,
because you are so much more than you let on.
