Lilly's POV

My life sucks.
No I am not just being a typical teenager when I say that. It really does suck. I mean, why don't you try being stuck in a tower for 15 years! It can really make you hate your life. Especially if you only company is a witchy old lady who likes to us your magic for power. You can't blame me for trying to escape. When Mother Gothel left the tower after de-aging herself, I tried to set my plan to action. I took my fluffy shawl from the clothes drying rope and my blanket. I put the small amount of food and my favorite book on the blanket and made a sack thing. I was ready. All I have to do now is get out of the tower. Good thing I have long hair I guess. I was about to tie my hair on the ledge and climb down, when I saw Mother Gothel coming. Why did she have to come back now?! I tried to hide all signs I was running away, when she told me to let down my hair. I did as told and she started climbing. I was hoping I had done a good job when I remembered the sack! It still had food and my book! She came into my tower and looked around
"Something isn't right here."
Oh no.. she was onto me.
"What ever is the problem mother?"
I tried to bring out my sweetest voice, it didn't work.
"Why is there a blanket with food and your bo- Are you trying to run away?"
My blood chilled over. Oh no,she was onto me.
"No, I-I would never-"
I was cut off my a hard slap to my face.
"HOW DARE YOU UNGRATEFUL- I RAISED YOU SINCE YOU PARENTS ABANDONED YOU AND YOU REPAY ME THIS WAY?"
I just stood there like a weak little girl. Which I am, I am just a weak little girl.
She ripped apart my book while I just stood there like I was paralyzed. She then told me to let down my hair and I did, I didn't want her to see me crying. After she left, I just broke down, all of the pain and sadness I had cooped up for 15 years just came flowing down. I knew I was never going to be free, but- but I still need to believe.
"I- I believe! I believe with all my heart I will get out of here someday."
I said to no one on particular. Then, the wind started blowing heavily into my tower. That's strange, it was never really windy up here. There was rustling outside, and in front of me was a shadow, a shadow who didn't have a human attached to it.
