2. Super Duper Big Dark Evil Secret

Shuichi watched as the Supreme Leader presented his work, in a less normal way. Half of the information was a lie and he would put pictures that were completely unrelated. It was safe to say he wouldn't be getting the best grade.

Shuichi was extremely focused trying to read his expression. What Kokichi did have right, was written very well, and if he put only the truth then he would've definitely gotten an A. So why would he purposely lie?

"Someone's staring~" Kaito teased and Shuichi turned away hiding the pink on his cheeks.
"Not sure how you're in love with a guy like that, but you do you."

"Excuseeeeee me!!! I'm trying to present my totally truthful project that's absolutely perfect!!! I can't do that if it's not quiet! Jeez I expected better from you Saihara! I can't believe you betrayed my trust like that!"

Shuichi saw the smirk on Kokichi's face and he couldn't help but smile at the cute little lies he makes. Shuichi covered his face hiding his blush while Kokichi just laughed continuing on.

"Why and how do you do this to me Ouma..?" He mumbled to himself.

"Hey Makiroll!! There you are!!" Kaito ran to catch up to her while she gave a cold stare.

"I told you to quit calling me that. It's stupid."

"You can't make me do anything!"

"I could if I really wanted to. I deal with kids like you all the time." Maki said while Kaito frowned at being called a kid. They bickered for a few minutes before the conversation went on to the kids at Maki's orphanage.

Kaito paid full attention listening to every word that came out of her mouth.  He couldn't help but stare as she talked. She had him wrapped around her finger.

"What? Is something on me?"

"Hm? No."

"Then what are you staring at?"

"Nothing!" Kaito admitted with red covering his face. Maki sighed and rolled her eyes walking away from Kaito.

Shuichi and Kaito waved bye as Maki headed off to the "orphanage" leaving Kaito staring as she walked off. When she was out of sight he flopped on the grass of the park with a smile.
"She's so perfect..."

"Really...?"

"Come on Shuichi don't you see it? I mean I'm glad you don't, that'd be pretty weird huh? Good thing you're totally in love with that liar."

"H-Hey! I-I'm not!" Shuichi tried to defend himself, but the stutters weren't really helping. Kaito just laughed before looking at the sky.

"Her hair is so long and pretty. Her eyes just pierce your heart and makes it skip a beat. When she smiles its the best. It lights up everything. She's finally starting to open up to people too...opening up to me. It just makes you happy seeing her be able to smile with other people because of you."

"You fell for her hard huh?"

"Yea haha...so hard I didn't even care when she told us her real talent. You got all startled. I hope one day, maybe if we ever end up together, that she can tell everyone her real talent and not feel ashamed. Because of me. Because of her loving boyfriend."

Shuichi watched as Kaito closed his smiling clearly daydreaming of that day. He quickly sat up though and pointed at Shuichi.
"Alright. You're turn! Explain to me how that little liar managed to steal your heart."

"I guess it wouldn't be weird to say detectives like a mystery...that's certainly what Kokichi is.." he started thinking of the interactions he had with him.
