TW: minor cutting

Valera had quite the time trying to sneak around teh giant castle. She was constantly on the search to hear buzzing or clicking footsteps, and she rarely did. It seemed the family stayed close to each other and never really separated. It just made everything easier for Valera.

Most of the markings lead to little crystals, plants, or scraps. Rarely were there any bullets for a gun that she didn't have. If she had to guess, there was just about 1 pack of shells for the gun she currently had, so the shotgun shells were mighty unhelpful.

Her eyes were trained on the key shape that lingered over the opera room, across the courtyard from where she currently stood. There was snow strewn about the ground from a small storm that seemed to have blown over after she'd gone into the castle. Valera approached the door and slowly pushed it open, a little worried what might lie on the other side.

As she pushed open the door, it creaked and she winced at the noise before letting out a sigh as she realized no one was in the room. She looked around the dimly lit area, noticing a massive grand piano sitting almost directly in the center of the room. She crept over towards it and found a note beside some sheet music.

The piano hides the way to open the door.

"The hell?" Valera muttered. She stared at the sheet music and frowned, narrowing her eyes a little. She picked up the note and surveyed it. It looked like it had been there for ages, and by the state of the piano, it was. The keys were dusty and Valera could already tell that it would be out of tune, but in the perfect way.

Valera looked at the sheet music on the piano, noticing that a section was highlighted within the music. She dug deep in her brain to times she didn't exactly enjoy remembering to refigure out just how to play. She slowly sat at the bench and looked at the ivory keys, gently pressing down a key for a perfectly tuned note to play, to her surprise. The weight of the key felt familiar and comforting, causing her to forget about her situation and focus on the sheet music.

She slowly began to play before finding a pace that felt right. She vaguely noticed the mechanical sound coming from a corner and focused on the music, letting it flow through her body and sing out through the room. She used to adore playing the piano, it used to be her favorite instrument but this was the first time she'd actually touched a beast such as a grand piano. She grew up on little upright ones that always sounded dinky no matter how expensive they were.

She got to the end of the sheet music and frowned as the song felt unfinished. She played one last chord that sounded like it could fit before removing her hands from the dusty keys. She smiled to herself a little before looking towards the sound of the mechanical whirr a little while ago.

A key sat on a small platform that looked like it had come from the innards of the wall. She stared at it before slowly taking it, hoping there wouldn't be any reaction to the weight missing from the little platform. There was none, to Valera's relief.

"If this shit doesn't fit in that door I'm going to kill someone." Valera muttered, wandering towards the door once more. She snuck back into the castle and slunk along until she reached the wine making room. She took they key from her pocket and immediately snarled to herself as she noticed that it didn't fit in the slightest.

She cursed herself mentally and wondered if there would be anything of interest in the kitchen, as there was a mark that was made on the paper that said there was something of high value there. She slunk in and searched every drawer and cupboard and groaned when she found nothing.

As she turned around, she was met with a grizzly sight. The blonde of the bunch was standing in the entrance, a somewhat bloodstained sickle in her hand. She had a wild look on her face and Valera noticed her grip tighten on the handle of the weapon. Attractive, yes. Menacing? Also yes.
