Whispers:Chapter 23

I took my seat by the silver girl. She didn't say anything about me sitting next to her, which was a relief.

She had the wires from before crawling around her ankles and arms. I froze. Looking closer, they were not wires. If you looked closer they were snakes.

I went rigid in my seat. Her long silver hair ended at the low of her back. Her skin was pale white and eyes the color of sterling silver.

The teacher gave a Cough and began to talk. I tried to pay attention to what he was saying but one of the snakes started to crawl up my desk.

I fought hard not too flick the little snakes off the desk. The silver girl glanced at the snake and picked it up.

It slowly wrapped around her bicep and froze. It turned to metal. I think I'm losing my mind. Angels , fire, water, snakes that turn to metal.

I let out a big sigh and slumped against my desk. "Is something wrong Gray?" The teacher asked. "Uh-... Nothing just not in the right mind today I guess" I have a slight laugh.

Everyone was staring at me. Why do people always stare?! I glared down at my book. The teacher went back to his teaching talking about Greek Gods.

I'm usually all for this topic but I was out of it. I need air. I didn't feel to good. I looked at the wall of shadows to see Matthew but I couldn't see him. I saw nothing.

It stated to get really hot. I needed to get out. I felt as if my mind was going to explode. My fingers began tapping the desk rapidly and my knee bouncing. What was wrong with me today?

My world froze. Everyone was completely still. I heard a loud thump against the window. There was a massive shadow hovering behind the window.

It hit the window again and spider webs of cracks began to form. I jumped out of my seat. No one got up. I tried to move the silver head girl but she was frozen as stone.

I swirled around towards the wall of shadows. The massive shadow hit the window again doubling the cracks. I ran to the wall. Nothing. He wasn't there.

I ran my hands inside the shadows. Only wall. I screamed in frustration. "Matthew!". The window busted the same time I yell his name. I ducked from the shards flying out.

Everything was quiet. The hard footsteps were gone, replaced by soft steps. I slowly peered over the desk. The shadow was one of the massive creatures from my dream.

And that guy, he was here too. He was dressed in all black with a mask. He wielded a deadly blade and scavenged the classroom for something I don't know what.

He went to the front and stopped by the teacher. I went stiff. He looked almost exactly like the teacher.

He let out a laugh then walked away from him. He walked to the student in front of him. He began walking down the aisles.

He would reach mine next. He stopped at the red hair boy and snarled. He raised his sword to swing. As his sword descended I screamed. He froze and snapped his head towards me.

He lowered his sword and headed got me. I tried to get up and slipped on glass. "Shit" glass pierced my skin.

The boy was already hovering above me. "Well, well well princesa. What a lovely surprise" he laughed. He wouldn't kill me right?

He saved me last time? Wait I think I'm dreaming. But everything else felt real. He brought his sword up and touched my shoulder ripping the shirt and biting skin. It burned, I screamed in agony.

Then everything was normal. Everyone was staring at me. I was on the floor. Matthew was immediately beside me. "What's wrong?" He asked confused.

His brows knit together on concern. I felt like I wanted to cry, cry and die because of the embarrassment. The teacher came over and tried to help me up.

I jerked away from him. "I saw you" I whispered so only he could hear. "You you were " my vision went black. I felt a pair of arms secure around me and lift me into an embrace.

I couldn't see anything. I felt the person start to walk and a door closed behind. "I need to talk to her when she wakes. " it was the teacher.

" only if she wishes it" it was Matthew.

Matthew held me in his arms. "I know what she has"

"what is it?"

"I'll tell her when she wakes up." Matthew grunted.

"Keep her safe Espinosa. I fear who haunts her."

"Who is it?" His voice a whisper. "It's my twin". I heard footsteps walk away and the sound of a door closing.

I snuggled in Matthew's chest and fell asleep.

Matthew's P.O.V

I watched as Jack left. He knew what lily's element is. I turned and began to walk Lily back to her room.

She moved and pressed her body closer to mine. I stiffened. I looked down at her. She was sleeping. I smiled. She was precious and so small.

I walked to her room and set her on her bed. I took off her shoes and pulled the covers over her. It was already getting late. Somehow she always ended up in my arms.

She couldn't train with Kierran tonight. I would have to tell him. I headed for the door when I heard Lily stir in her bed. She flipped the sheets off. I laughed.

She was mumbling something. I walked over to the bed and leaned over her to here what she was saying. Just a bunch of mumbles.

She sighed. "Matthew" she whispered I looked at her. Why was she saying my name ? And in her sleep? She said my name again and shifted in the bed.

I was still hovering above her. She curled up against the pillow. Was she imagining me? I felt my body go warm.

My stomach felt funny. I stood back up and began to walk away. I felt two small hands wrap around my shirt.

I looked down, already knowing what I was gonna see. Her hands were curled in my shirt. She mumbled something I didn't Hear only two words. "Matthew...stay" I looked at her. What would it hurt? She probably isn't going to remember.

I'll just leave earlier. I don't think Kierran would go looking for her either. I walked to the other side of the bed. I tugged off my shirt and threw it on the ground.

I slipped into the bed and pulled Lily against me. She didn't push away. She still didn't wake up. I felt her arms wrap around my waist. I gazed at her. I wonder if she even knows what she is doing.
