Chapter 13:Whispers

Matthew's P.O.V

A blaze of light hit my face and I woke up. I looked around and I was surrounded by vanilla. I look down and Lily is sprawled out across my chest.

She was still sleeping. What in the world? how did I... oh i remember. I didn't feel like going to my room. Well this is good i guess. Its what I wanted.

To have Lily in my arms. I thought I was dreaming. That I was actually in my room. She slept so beautifully. She stirred a little and she opened her eyes.

She was staring at me. Her eyes widened and she flinged herself off me. She let out a shriek and tumbled off the bed. I think she realized she was sleeping on me.

I look over to were she has fallen. Her hair was a mess around her face and her face was pink.

"Well good morning sleeping beauty" .

Lily's P.O.V

"Well good morning sleeping beauty" he smirked at me. I was staring at him. I was asleep in the same bed as Matthew. I barely even knew him. Oh my god. I only knew him for what? like 3 days?!

I open my mouth to say something but he interrupts me. "You need to get ready"

Ready? ready for what? "For what?" I ask.

He didn't respond. He was looking at me. Not saying anything. I looked down at what Iwas wearing. the tank top and black shorts. my bare legs were sprawled out in front of me from falling off the bed. I looked back at Matthew and he let out a cough.

"First day of school sweet heart" his voice was strained.

He got off the bed and walked out of the room.

"be ready in 30 minutes. I'll be back with some food".

He closed the door behind him. School?! are you kidding me! Im stuck here and I have to go to school! what the heck! I get up and head to the bathroom.

I walk towards the closet but stop by the mirror. My eyes were wide awake and my skin ahd a pink tint to it. Which is actually good. I am so pale other times. I walk back into the closet. What should one must wear on her first day of school? I look around and all I see is big dresses. Nothing else. If im going to be staying here I seriously need to get new clothes. I end up taking out another short black leggings and a dark green sweater. I found something that wasn't a dress thank god.

By The time Matthew came through the front door I was on th couch slipping my vans on. "You actually got dressed in time" he was being sarcastic. I ignored him. I walked over to were he sat the tray of food. There was apples and muffins. I picked the blue berry one. "you need to eat that on the way. Come one. We are almost late."

"But I -"

"we don't want to be late for your first class do we know?" he turned around and laughed. We walked out the door and down the hall.

"Don't I have a list of my schedule or something?" He handed me a slip of paper.

First period - History Second period - Survival Third period - Biology Fourth period- Element *extra* - Kombat training

"Kombat training? you're kidding right?" I looked up to Matthew. He looked down towards me.

"Yeah. Every freshman at the academy has to take it before and after school."

"But I don't fight."

"it'll be okay. Everyone is pared with a partner with the same gender. and then in survival you go against anyone with the same element."

Element? what was that?

"But i don't have an element."

"Yes you do. You are the daughter of the Queen. You just haven't bloomed yet. That's why you have the Element class to find it out"

I looked down. I haven't bloomed yet. The memory of him changing my clothes came back to me and I felt my checks blush.

We stop in front of a door made of steel. "Ready?" Matthew asked. I nodded. If what Matthew said was true that I would have a woman train me in fighting i should be good.

Matthew held the door open for me and i walked in. I stopped dead in my tracks. Carter was standing in the middle of the matts.

"Well welcome little bird" he smirked.
