Whispers chapter 5

Matthew's POV:

Dam, Carter almost got her. Why can't he just stick with the rules that were given by the M.O.S.

I need to have a talk with him and make sure he does not do it again.I look to the side at Lily.

She had her arms wrapped around he body. She was cold. I turned up the heat and she seem to relax a little. She continued to look outside the window.

I don't know where I'm going just around so i can make sure she is safe...and away from Carter. I was lieing to my self. I had to take her to the Queen. Even against my will.

"So how long have you been here?" I ask hoping to break the tension that lingered inside the car.

"My whole life" she answered.

"You like it here?

"It's fine"

Dang what's up with her? I'm trying to make it less awkward.

Lily's POV:

I look over at Matthew. His jaw was was set straight and kept looking forward. He seemed tense. Why is he tensed? I should be the one tensed.

He basically took me in his car driving to who knows where! "Where are we going?" I ask. I need to get some information out of him. Make sure in not with a complete lunatic like Cater. What was up with him? He was crazy.

Matthew sighs and keeps driving."a place?"

He finally responds? "You're place?" I stopped my self from saying anything more.

Matthew looked at me and grinned. My checks flushed. I could feel it. "No but if you would like t-" "no no no that's not what I meant" I said a little to quickly which apparently amused him. "Just trust me" he says.

Matthew soon take another left and parks. I look outside and the streets are empty, probably because most of the kids are in school or should be at least. This place had a bad reputation and I did not want to be anywhere near here.

I stepped out of the car and Matthew was already by my side. He motions me forward towards a building that looks like it hasn't been used for decades. Once we reach the gates Matthew unlocks the old gate and pushes it aside.

He pulls me inside. Once we are both inside the scenery changes and I stop where I'm at. Matthew puts one of his hands on my lower back and leans down "keep walking.look straight and ignore anyone that tries to give you stuff" he whispers into my ear. "Wait what?" I turn to ask but he already motioned me forward.

What is he talking about? Where are we? This place was so beautiful. Too beautiful.Before it was a old street with broken windows and ruined buildings. This place was just amazing.

The grass was a bright green and nicely trimmed and the flowers were in all the colors that I could imagine.

The building in front of us was massive. It looked like a castle from those fairy novels that my father used to read to me when I was a little girl.

The castle was a beautiful crystal and black color from the medieval times. Once we got to the doors Matthew knocked twice, paused and twice again.

The massive doors unlocked and opened for us. Matthew motioned for me to go first and once I was in I was definitely surprised. The walls had thick velvet curtains and black chairs off to the side.

Little people with carts were jumping around and laughing. Some where dancing and the music was just wonderful.

" don't take anything" Matthew growls. Disgust was full in his voice.
