Miyeon didn't really understand what she was getting into when she agreed to wait for Seojun. She knew he had feelings for her and that she had feelings back, she knew they had kissed, she knew they were closer than they had ever been when Suho left to be by his father's side.
But in reality, she was waiting for him to get the courage to proceed with the advice that Juyoung - a sixteen year old - had given him upon being rejected by Gowoon.
The advice hadn't even been advice, just a passing comment that once thought about by Seojun and Miyeon, seemed to make sense. Juyoung had told Gowoon of his feelings and got rejected and because of that, he could move on.
It did make sense. By telling her about his feelings and being rejected, he knew that no matter what he had done his very best to end up dating her. She hadn't felt the same, so that brought about a peace of mind that at least he had asked her, even if it hadn't gone the way he hoped.
