Y/N: It felt like last year ended very quickly. In a couple months, we'll graduate and be done with high school.

Riko: Ugh, really? It felt like the year took forever.

Y/N: That's because you always got detention!

Riko: Oh shut up. It's not my fault our teacher just hates me.

Rika: Stop fighting. You guys act like little kids sometimes.

Riko: Like you're one to talk Rika.

After we exited the school, I parted my ways with Rika and Riko.

Calli: Y/N?!

Ahead of me, Calli was waving so I ran over to her.

Y/N: Hey, Calli, what's up?

Calli: There's something I should tell you.

Y/N: Oh? What would that be?

Calli: It's about when we fused souls...Y/N.

Y/N: What about that?

Calli: When we fused souls, our lives...became intertwined.

Y/N: Intertwined?

Calli: Yes? When you die...I'll die along with you.

Y/N: Of death? A grim reaper isn't supposed to die!

Calli: The only way that can die is that if we grow attached to a human and that human dies. It's happened before, Y/N. I'm not the first grim reaper to give someone a part of my soul.

Y/N: But-But-

Calli: You said it yourself, Y/N. Everything dies. Even grim reapers!

Y/N: Why did you even save me, then? If you're gonna die too...

Calli: You don't understand-

Y/N: But I want to understand!

Calli: Y/N, listen to me!

I stood still just looking at Calli.

Calli: It wasn't my choice to grow attached to you, Y/N.

Y/N: It just happened?

Calli: You were a little kid when I first saw you, Y/N. I couldn't leave a child just laying there. I had to give you a part of my soul. You would've died if you didn't!

Y/N: You should've left me be. You would still live on if you did.

Calli : I couldn't do that, Y/N! Fine. It was my choice to give you a part of my soul. It was my choice to fall in love with you. Everything I did was because I wanted to do it! Is it so wrong to save someone's life?

Y/N: You're a grim reaper! You're supposed to TAKE souls! But you saved mine. There was no reason to!

Calli: I told you I tried to take your soul before I fused my soul with you. But I couldn't. Something was blocking me from doing so!

Y/N: Calli...

Calli: It was my decision to give you a part of my soul, and I don't regret it.

Calli: POV

After I said those words, Y/N backed up and ran the opposite way.

Calli: Y/N?!

I called out to him but he didn't stop. I was at a loss, not knowing what to do.

Calli: W-What do I do now? I just...I just don't know.
