Chapter#12:Madness Or Love.

Alexander was sitting in the tv lounge of his aunt's house after a long day of work. He often visited his aunt's house whenever he had craving for home made food.

Today, he had been waiting for food for since like an hour but Kate, his cousin wasn't bringing his food. Instead, she was on call with someone. He had asked Kate to bring him food like ten times but she wasn't listening. He knew that Kate was not going to listen to him but he had no other choice. Aunt wasn't home that evening.

Finally, he gave a shout, "I AM DYING FROM HUNGER HERE BUT DOES ANYONE BRING ME FOOD? NO! IF I DIE, EACH MEMBER OF THIS HOUSE WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE. ESPECIALLY YOU, KATE MARTINEZ!"

Kate entered the tv lounge with a tray in her hands, "And the drama queen started throwing tantrums. Again."

"So what am I supposed to do? I've asked you to bring me food for like a thousand times but you......you wait till aunt comes home. I am going tell on you today", Xander complained while Kate was placing his food on the coffee table.

"Well, your majesty. You have two hands. You could have stood up and served yourself!", Kate said the last line sharply.

"That's not how you talk to a guest!", Xander exclaimed.

"Guest, huh!", Kate turned around, proceeding to go towards her room.

"You forgot to heat up my food!", Xander shouted.

"Do it yourself!", Kate was surely done with Xander for that evening.

Xander made a face at her and concentrated on the cold but lovely food.

At that very moment, his aunt arrived from the front door, greeted him and sat on the sofa as he greeted her back.

"Tired?", Xander asked.

"Very. How's the food?", his aunt asked.

"Nice."

"Only nice?"

"It would have been wonderful if it was warm. Kate did microwave it for me but I got a call from my boss and it took time", Xander lied.

"Oh dear, you should have asked Kate to...."

"I didn't want to bother her."

"KATE!"

"Yes mom", Kate entered after a while.

"Will you reheat Xander's food for him? His boss called in between and now it's cold."

Kate glared at Xander who was smirking but then turned towards her mother, "Yes, mom."

While picking up Xander's food, Kate asked, "How did it go?"

"Better than expected. They were such nice people", her mother replied.

"Who?", Xander asked.

Kate made a face at him and went.

"When Ethan started having anger issues, he stopped talking to us. He wasn't jolly anymore, Remember?", Xander's aunt asked.

"Yes...like a few years ago. I remember that."

"It took him months to open up to us. He told us that there was this girl....."

"...yea..I remember that clearly. They both loved each other but she had to leave. And something about her family rules too", how could Alexander forget.

"At Jeremy's wedding, he saw her. He told me how she was still the same. He said that he was ready to accept her. All I saw was sincerity. His father and I talked about it and decided if that's what made Ethan happy then ok. Ethan contacted that girl. He did not tell me the details but brought a match maker's number whom we contacted so we could talk to Isabelle's parents for her hand in marriage. So, your uncle and I just came back from there. After proposing Ethan and Belle's marriage."

Xander was so shocked that he could only ask, "Where's Ethan?"

"He took half day off today so he went back to his office to complete those hours. Why do you ask?", his aunt obviously wondered why this was the only thing Xander wanted to know.

Till then, Xander had recovered from his shock, "um...because I don't see him anywhere. He should be jumping around out of joy. And I don't see uncle anywhere either."

"Your uncle is at Ethan's new house. The workers wanted to work some extra hours on it today and Ethan wasn't free so..."

Kate interrupted placing Xander food on the table, "Just eat and leave!"

"What if I decide to stay for the night?", Xander said.

"Then stay out of my sight", Kate replied.

Ethan arrived home at midnight. Kate was on the couch using her phone.

"You're still up?", Ethan asked.

"Yup. I was waiting for you. Now...did you get her picture for me as I told you to?", Kate jumped.

Ethan sighed, "The whole time we were there, I didn't even caught a glimpse of her."

"That's it! I'll  go with you too the next time you go there", Kate huffed.

"Ok...as you wish", Ethan pulled her cheek.

"Ou..stop that. I'm not a child!"

"Ok!", Ethan surrendered. "What did you do when you were home alone?"

"Alone! Xander was here to 'babysit' me. When in reality, I was babysitting him! He wants water. Then he starts throwing tantrums because the water was cold. Then he wants more water. And then starts being a baby because it's too warm. Then he wants food! I swear he was doing all that on purpose to irritate me!"

Ethan just laughed hearing all that. He knew Kate and Xander didn't go along well, "When did he leave?"

"He decided to stay just because I told him to leave", Kate answered giving Ethan 'the look.'

Ethan caught up quickly, "He's not sleeping in my room, is he?"

"He surely is", Kate replied smiling.

"Ah, come on!"

When Ethan entered his room, he saw that Xander was not asleep. Instead he was looking at some paintings which were on the wall.

"I call dibbs on the bed!", Ethan shouted and jumped on the bed. "Now take the couch quietly and we will be at peace."

"How?", Alexander asked.

"How what?", Ethan noticed that Xander was in a serious mood.

"How can you still love her after what she did to you?", Xander turned around.

"Easy. Just like you still love Ana", Ethan answered.

"I don't love her!", Xander snapped.

Ethan did not answer.

"This is madness! How can you love her after so many years of not knowing about any of her whereabouts? Not even knowing if she is alive or not?!", Xander was frustrated.

"You tell me how-"

"-for the last time, Ethan. I don't love her!", Xander warned Ethan.

"I.HATE.ANA.RODRIGUEZ!"

"Then I don't really know how to answer any of your questions", Ethan sighed.
