"Bondita?" Barrister Babu knocked at the door of my room. I can hear his voice, but I was still climbing the rope. My heartbeat was increasing with each passing second

If he opened the door and didn't found me?

I quickly jumped in my room and till that moment, I can hear him threatening me to open the door or he will himself open it. I can't change now as it will take a lot of time. I panicked when I heard the door opening. Not knowing what to do, I hurriedly laid on the bed, covered myself with the blanket and closed my eyes.

"Bondita it-" Barrister Babu barged in the room.
I can feel him sitting beside me, which made my heart to increase its pace. He caressed my hairs, which sent shivers down my spines. But me being me, didn't let him even had a slightest idea that how he is affecting me.

"Bondita utho" He said gently and I slowly opened my eyes. I pretended like he woke me up from deep slumber and fake rubbed my eyes while narrowing them.

"Barrister babu aap yaha? "

"Haan.... Vo... " He rubbed the back of his neck. "Tumhari tabiyat kaisi hai ab? "

Tabiyat? Konsi tabiyat?

"Mujhe kya hua hai? " I asked him confused.

"Koyli bata rahi thi ki tumhari tabiyat thik nahi hai"

That's when the realisation hit me.

Oh! Finally you remembered about your 'tabiyat'. My conscience said to me sarcastically, but I need to handle barrister babu first.

I will see you later.

Well, looking in mirror will also work.

Arghh!

I looked at Barrister babu, who was looking at me suspiciously.

"Haan vo thodi thakawat ho rahi thi, par ab thik hu main"

"Toh tumne abhi kyu kaha ki mujhe kya hua hai?"

Ugh! Why he have to ask so many questions?

Because he is a barrister. My conscience reminded me.

Barrister jaise koi kaam toh kare nahi hai kabhi.

"Kuchh kaha tumne?" Barrister babu asked me.

Did I say it aloud?

"Kuchh suna aapne?"

"Haan, kuchh kuchh suna maine"

"Haan toh, kuchh kuchh kaha maine" I replied in the same tone with a smirk, making him speechless.

"T-tum ye-ye sab chhodo aur neeche chalo" He changed the topic. I hummed and waited for him to go because I am still in Anaya's clothes.

"Kya?" I asked him.

"Kya kya?"

"Aap jaaiye, main aati hu" I tried to shoo him.

"Kyu? Saath kyu nahi chal sakte?" He frowned.

"V-vo mu-mujhe....haan vo mujhe abhi  kapde badalne hain isliye"

"Kyu kapdon main kya kharabi hai? Dikhao" He tried to snatch the blanket from me, but I held it like my whole life depends upon that mere blanket.

"A-aap jaaiye na. Maine kaha na ki main aati hu"

"Par-"

"Please" I cut him off. He reluctantly left the room, not before giving me a suspicious look. I sighed in relief and got up from the bed. I immediately closed the door and knelt down, when I saw that one of my anklet was missing from my leg.
