"You know, you have a beautiful voice," Tord said, surprising (Y/N) as they hadn't said a word to each other after Paul left.
"Sure, whatever," (Y/N) dismissed Tord's poor attempts at flirting, much to Tord's disappointment. He'd been wanting to get closer to (Y/N) for a while now, yet (Y/N) never seemed to let him into her life as she did before, but he could at least say he was making decent progress.
"So, uh... how's the love life?" Tord asked as he immediately scolded himself mentally for bringing up the topic of love with his crush.
(Y/N) contemplated telling Tord anything as her grudge was still evident, but she decided to let bygones be bygones. "Eh, I haven't really been dating much. I had a few partners, but I figured dating just isn't for me,"
Tord felt a sense of guilt wash over him. He didn't think talking about (Y/N)'s love life was a good idea anymore. Though, he didn't know that (Y/N) had actually been wanting to spill all the thoughts she had about love.
"I have had a few encounters with people who tried to force my phone number out of me," (Y/N) said, her eyebrows furrowed at the thought.
Tord remembered when people would come up to (Y/N) and try to hit on her. He always stood up for her as the girl was too shy and introverted to stand up to the person and tell them to leave. He never did like those types of people, he found it rude to persistently bug a person for a number or relationship when they made it clear they don't want anything to do with the person.
"Though, surprisingly," Tord's ears perked up at the sound of (Y/N)'s soft voice. "I've found the courage to tell them off now,"
-
"Hey, babe. Do you have a name or can I call you mine?"
(Y/N) gave the person a confused and disgusted look. She didn't like the fact that this person had the gall to come up to her and hit on her without even so much as an introduction or hello.
"No, thanks. I don't want to get together with someone like you,"
The person was quick to insult (Y/N) and make a big scene, annoying all the people in the bar as Tom, Edd and Matt ran up to (Y/N) to see what the commotion was about. In the end, (Y/N) stayed calm and kept refusing the person's attempts at flirting and insults as the quartet left the bar and went home to get over the eventful night they had.
-
"Anyways, back to my previous relationships. Surprisingly, all my relationships have ended well, but I still have this feeling that, the perfect someone is still out there somewhere," (Y/N) looked up at the stars that had come out, her eyes held a dreamy look as she placed a hand on her chest, right above her heart.
The Norwegian felt a strong urge to hold (Y/N) in his arms and tell her how he felt about her, yet something was stopping him. That something being the Red Army, the promise that he would make the world better once he's in control of it.
The promise was a strong one to uphold and Tord wasn't about to give up on it just yet, but the feelings he thought he'd pushed aside have come back and are haunting him once more.
The fear of never being able to tell (Y/N) how much he cared for her, losing her to someone he fears may only hurt her in the long run and most of all, never knowing if (Y/N) might love him back or not.
These feelings were tearing him apart on the inside, yet he could tell right now wasn't the time to tell her. He didn't want to ruin the friendship he had just recently gained.
"So, how's your love life been?" Tord jumped a bit at the question, "Hey, it's only fair you tell me yours since I told you mine!"
"Well, I really haven't dated anyone since I've been too busy with my... work, if you could call it that," Tord said, making sure to keep the Red Army a secret, "And, just like you, I'm also waiting to find my soulmate,"
Tord's eyes glanced at (Y/N), who listened to Tord with intense focus. "But, sometimes," Tord held (Y/N)'s hand and intertwined his fingers with hers as he looked into (Y/N)'s eyes and admired her face, "I think I might have already found them,"
(Y/N) was unsure as to why Tord held a lovestruck look in his eyes, but she could feel her heart race a bit at Tord's heartfelt words and she couldn't pinpoint the exact reason as to why she felt this way.
"I'm glad you've found your true love!" (Y/N) exclaimed, causing Tord to feel his heart fall a bit at the fact (Y/N) wasn't catching onto what he was trying to say.
"Oh, yeah, thanks. I guess..." (Y/N)'s smile faded at the sight of Tord's sad eyes. She felt his grip tighten as though he were afraid she would take her hand away if he didn't keep a strong hold on it.
The two stayed silent the whole way home, not saying a word until opening the door to be greeted by Tom, who stayed up after noticing (Y/N) was gone. "It's late, where have you been?"
Tom walked up to (Y/N) and embraced her as he spoke. (Y/N) let out a few giggles before separating herself from Tom and reassuring him she was alright. Though Tom didn't believe her as he glared daggers into Tord while wasn't looking.
Tord smirked to annoy Tom even more, though this time, Tom could tell the smirk wasn't filled with malice. It was playful, a smirk that Tord used to wear all the time. Tom didn't always hate Tord like he did now. Yes, he did hate Tord for as long as he could remember, but it was always playful banter, never did they ever act horribly awful to one another.
"Fine, just, please tell me when you're going to be staying out late. Can you promise me that?" Tom held out his pinky finger as (Y/N) linked her pinky with his. She gave him a smile as she did so, making Tom smile as well.
Tord watched the two as they laughed together, his heart seemed to hurt a bit at the sight in front of him. Tom and (Y/N) told each other their goodnights and (Y/N) was about to do the same to Tord, but she was stopped by the boy placing his arms around her waist and nuzzling his head into the crook of her neck.
(Y/N) knew this was wrong, but she couldn't help but place a hand on Tord's back and another on his head to brush the boy's hair back, petting him softly. The two stayed in that position for a few minutes, though to them, it felt like an eternity. The two loved the feeling of the other's embrace and it only brought a smile to their faces.
After the hug ended, (Y/N) could see the sleepiness in Tord's eyes and she helped him get to where he was staying, up in the attic with Matt. She found the bed Edd bought for Tord as we all know how well it went when they tried to build another floor for the house. Tord laid in his bed and cuddled up into the blanket, getting comfortable as (Y/N) started to walk away, but like always, Tord stopped her.
"What about my goodnight kiss?" (Y/N) felt herself get flustered at the mention of a kiss. Her mind then went back to when she used to tuck Tord in. She noticed Tord's small pout and puppy dog eyes and that was enough to get her to give in. She walked back to the side of Tord's bed as Tord closed his eyes.
(Y/N) let out a small whine before placing a soft kiss upon Tord's forehead. "Sweet dreams, Tord,"
"Sweet dreams, (Y/N)," Tord whispered as he gave her one last smile before closing his eyes and letting his sleepiness take over. (Y/N) rolled her eyes before giving Tord one last forehead kiss out of habit and walking to her room.
Once she reached her room, she laid in her bed and thought back to how the day had gone. Her mind replayed what Tord had said.
"But sometimes, I think I may have already found them,"
Why did those words make her heart skip a beat? Maybe it was the way Tord looked into her eyes with such love. Then why did they make her heart hurt? Maybe it was because she had feelings for him?
(Y/N) felt her eyes go wide at that thought. Her having feelings for Tord? She kept denying this, though now. She wasn't so sure about her feelings. She shook her head from these thoughts and went to sleep.
The two slept soundly and just like they said, they both had sweet dreams.
