..."And then Lady Gemma's bloodust caused a lot of problems with her parents. Because, sadly, she glided into the Dark Woods one night, aged 8 at the time, she saw a village girl. Her name was Anna. She had had no other name. Lady Gemma grabbed an axe and chopped her head off with her right hand. She saw the blood gush all over her face and dress. And legs, and feet...She then stuck the head of the poor Village girl on top of one of the wrought-iron gates at Mist Gate...And, since she had 'unnatural, vampiric powers', she was feared more by everyone...She was called "The Mad Lady of London"...But, she wasn't a Lady; she was girl. An infected girl. And, consequently, her bloodlust increased...An hour later, she saw a girl. She bit her thrice in her neck. Flesh ripped, and she turned the girl. Noone knew her name. And, drinking from her blood, she felt a sexual arousal that was foreign to her...Lady Gemma didn't know the word for lust, but, for her, it was a release...And the poor girl's parents were beside themselves...They vowed justice...Lord Carnavan had told them thus:

'My daughter is sick...And I will, of course, pay £30 to each victims' families...Lady Catherine, my wife, is saddened...and disturbed, by these 'orrible deaths...We are in charge of all Five Vampire Families; we are, in short, bound by laws...And we can't murder, nor bite, or infect, any Village girl, boy, or human man or woman, less we need to...But, we are careful of overstepping our laws...Because we will be worse than the evil that dwells in London Town...I have killed in anger; I have spilled human blood; I have beheaded my enemies; I have done things that no human, demon, vampire, or imp, or other creatures, have thought about...But, I have not spread any disease into the blood of innocents...I will draw the line at that scandal...And my wife can attest to that'...
