Hello there!
My name is Ryan. I'm one of the many alters from the Dewey Decimal System.
I'm starting this book as there seems to be a good amount of misinformation around DID/OSDD, and it's not fun having to repeat yourself numerous times. /nm Whether you're a singlet wanting to be informed, a system just checking around, or someone wondering if you're a system, feel free to stay!A disclaimer: not all systems are the same. We all experience the world differently, but that doesn't make anyone less valid. Do not fakeclaim systems if they don't experience anything listed here or experience it differently: especially if you're a singlet. It's not fair to dismiss others like that, so please keep an open mind and be educated.
Now, just some overall terms that you should remember. I will elaborate on them more later:
Alters - The distinct people who reside in the body
Front - Whoever is controlling the body at that given moment
Singlet - Someone who is one person controlling a body without DID/OSDD
System - People with DID/OSDD. The basic definition of this is having 2 or more people/alters reside in and control 1 body. Systems may refer to themselves also as councils, collectives, groups, etc.
Endos - Systems that claim to have formed without trauma
A final note to systems: if I write something you feel is incorrect or could be more detailed, do tell me! I want to make this as descriptive as possible. /gen
I shall see you all in the next chapter!
Sincerely,
Ryan
