If Not Now , Then When?

My life felt like broken record,
Without a tune.
My heart was missing a chord,
Feelings and emotions strewn.

I felt "ugly tuned",
Like a guitar with broken strings.
'It will be ok' they crooned,
But it didn't mend my broken wings.

I was drifting apart,
Fading away.
I should have realised from the start,
It was meant to be this way.

Then realisation hit me,
I was freed,
From the devil residing in me.
On the paper I bled.

It was all in my head.
Obvious yet unknown
Those unworthy tears I shed.
Now left my mind blown.

It was my own thoughts,
Disguised.
I joined the dots
And realised.

I came back from being dead.
To reality.
From the place I dread,
I realised the importance of versatility.
