"Hurry up mum!" shouted Annabelle. Annabelle, a 10 year old girl, and her mum were on the way to the park on the first day of the holidays. "Come on mum! You are a detective you should be fit!" laughed Annabelle. Annabelle and her mum lived in a small town in a forest called The Village. It was quite close to a bigger town called The City. There was only one road connecting the two cities.

Very few people in The Village owned cars, because everything they needed (shop, vet, clinic, restaurant, school) were in The Village. However, in case people needed to get to The City (for example Annabelle's mum, as she worked in The City) there was a bus that drove from the end of The Village all the way to The City.
Everyone in The Village lived in small semi-detached houses with quite small gardens. Annabelle and her mum lived in the 6th semi-detached house and her best friend, Joanne, lived in the semi-detached house detached to Annabelle's (the 5th one).
"I know your excited Annabelle, but we have the whole of the holidays to play" reminded Annabelle's mum. As they got to the park, Annabelle realised something laying on the floor. "Mum, what is that?" Annabelle asked worryingly. "It's a hurt wolf puppy! We need to take it to the vet!" Annabelle's mum exclaimed before carefully picking up the wolf puppy and heading towards the vet clinic lead by her sister.
