Loud footsteps were approaching, today has being the most anticipated day, an interview with the Don of one of the most biggest laundering businesses in Nigeria. A lot of hustling and bustling were everywhere, setting of cameras and microphones. One would never dream that the mighty would fall but unfortunately this is the fate of Sylvia Okonkwo.

THIS IS HER STORY

~~~~
Sleeping here last night was hard for me, now that I'm in prison the nightmares are worse. I never thought that I'd be betrayed like this and pratically treated like a commoner in this freaking cell. I'm not fit to be in here, I need to speed up my plans. I've being here for the past few weeks and I'm not liking it one bit,though it's like a mini hotel room for low lives but not for me. I'd rather be in my jet, in a jacuzzi sipping champagne. Oh the good life.
"Sylvia it's time for your interview, get ready he's waiting for you." One the guards Bassey said, he's one of my favourites technically because he allows me to use his phone which isn't bugged thankfully. "I'll be right there soon, this is really an irony you know huhn" I said scoffing while smoothing the wrinkled lines on my overall. This ugly green uniform makes me look like shit, it's so depressing.
"Why would you say that." "Well I'm used to ordering people now I've to listen to you and follow." I said while trying to hide a smile when he raised one of his eyebrow. Never show emotions to people or they'd use it against you. "You are right about that but you'd have thought before going into this line of business. Besides enough of the chit chat. Get ready." You don't know my story I said to myself.
Walking down the hallways, the prison cells smells like piss. I wonder how they cope here, few days ago it was reported that a man committted suicide. Poor guy and I saw potentials in him if only he could have waited just a little bit for me to come for him he'd be in a better place. Kind of unbelievable that someone would commit suicide right?, simply because, how did he get the resources?, but with Nigeria especially Lagos anything is possible.
"Good morning Sylvia, I'm Temitope Olawuyi. We met la-." "Yes I remember you very well, I gave you the authorization to interview me. Enough with the formality let's get to the point and end this already, I'm really famished." I said rolling my eyes, if this guy thinks because of the interview we are going to be friends then he must be joking. I'm only doing this for one person. "If you say so, then let's get started."
"So Sylvia people want to know how you got the name MADAM, would you like to share that with us." I laughed like a mad woman when he asked that question. The guards here and this odenu in front in me would think I'm crazy, but come to think of it I've lost my mind since when I was twenty three years old. What I'd really love to do right now is to strangle this idiot because honestly just seeing his face is making me angry. "I didn't get the name, I earned it." I said taking a hold of his collar.
"Via come downstairs ooo, aren't you done dressing up your father and I have being waiting for you for the past two hours are you giving birth there." My mum, Mrs. Ifeoma Onkonkwo shouted from the living room which is double the size of a standard tennis court. The furnishing in the house shows the extent to which the Okonkwo's wealth is worth. A complete duplex with four rooms all ensuite, a pool, theatre, basketball court e.t.c located at Ikoyi on the island in Lagos state.
"Yes mom I'm coming oo, just wait a little bit for me." I said adding the finishing touch to my make up. Today is one of the most important day according to my parents because it involves my introduction to the family business. I just recently graduated from Covenant University with a Bsc in Business administration and my parents want me to get familiar with the company and its workers. This has always being my dream to take over from my father ever since I was a teenager and very soon it would come true.
My father owns many estates ,real estates companies and other businesses by the side which he built with his sweat and blood in order to provide for himself and his family. So it comes as a shock to me when my parents tell me that if anything happens to them their lawyer is entrusted to hold all my inheritance until I attain the age of thirty because my parents see me as immature. It really hurt me when they told me that. They have always treated me like a little girl especially my father who calls me Adannaya.
"My darling daughter you look beautiful as always, Adannaya. My beloved daughter."Kenneth Okonkwo, my dad praised me while I was coming downstairs. My dad can really be dramatic sometimes, he's pratically the clown in the family and the less strict one not like my mother who always expects perfection from me. She can really be over bearing but I'd never trade her for anything in the world because she's my mom amd I love her. "Daddy why are you making it such a big deal, this is my everyday makeup application. I still look the same" I said while rolling my eyes and crossing my arms.
"It's like you people want to be late abi, you guys have started this again. I'm getting tired ooo let's start going, Via adjust the straps of your sandals I don't want you to look out of place." "Mommy I'm okay like this na there's nothing wrong it's just a strap." "Nothing is too small not even a strap, you need to look your best and be well coordinated and organised." My mom said while narrowing her eyes at me, from her countenance you could tell she was getting irritated . "Girls not now let's get going, Syl please listen to your mother. You know how she gets when she's agitated like a rat caught in a trap," he said while mumbling the last part quietly to me.
"Yes dad I know, sometimes she thinks of herself as a ferocious lioness while she's as meek as a mice," I said while chuckling at her father's statement. My mom can be annoying sometimes and a little bit controlling but I keep thanking God that I have my father to calm her down. Although she's the very emotional one in the family even if she claims to be always strong but I'm the only one that can truly see through her facade. "I heard what you said ooo."
"Hmmm, there is a lot of crime happening in this our country ooo. Can you take a look at this."dad said while showing us his phone,'Money launderes accosted by the police at Murtala Mohammed airport'. "This is honestly the government's fault, if only they provide jobs for the young youths in the country there would be low crime and the society would be safe for everyone," mom argued. "Abeg,that's not true, the youths should find honest jobs to do than depending on the government. Sometimes we have to look at it from a different angle, majority of these youths chose this particular line of job just because they have the mindsets of criminals,"my dad argued.
"Mtchew it's okay, I'm not ready to argue with you. This is a wonderful day so I don't want you to spoil my mood, in fact I concur with you it's the youths fault that they are going into criminal jobs," mom said sarcastically while raising her eyebrows. I stifled a chuckle because I know they'll have my head, now I know where I got my attitude from. This always happens in the car whenever we are together, dad always bring up an issue,vice versa and they both argue through out the ride. This day must be really special for my mom because she never backs down from an arguement especially when it's with my dad.
