I must confess my parents really know how to throw a party. The decorations were top notch, the setting of the tables and chairs were very beautiful and magnificent and finally there is a life band here. Wow this is really amazing. I'm very sure it's my mum who planned this because she wouldn't want any glitches today. I looked to my side and saw few waiters passing with champagne, finally I'm going to drink alcohol today.

"Via come and meet uncle Emeka it's being long you've seen him, he just came back from China. The last time you saw him was when you were four years old," my mum said. I looked around to see a man probably in his early fifties, he kind of looked like my dad. I suppose they are siblings. "Oh good afternoon sir." "Adannaya ke ka ime," Uncle Emeka said while giving me a side hug. "Uncle, adim nma," I replied while smiling awkwardly because I really can't remember him at all.

"This one you are looking as if you don't remember me, I carried you when you were a baby,"he said. Typical Nigerian always making this statement, its so annoying. How would I remember you when I was little I said and rolled my eyes internally. "Don't mind Sylvia, sometimes she can be disrespectful," said mom while giving me the stink eye. Really mom I'm disrespectful, I was little then. "It's okay, children of nowadays."

"Abi, how was your trip. I'm really sorry for the inconveniences, it was an impromptu decision we made." "It was okay, but I had a little issue at the air-" I pratically zoned out their conversation, it was getting boring. I sat down on one of the chairs at the high table. Perks of being the host. I surveyed around the crowd until my eyes caught a man probably in late twenties. Hmm he's gorgeous. He was also staring at me while talking to a man beside him.

He really looked pristine, like a very important person. Who is he because he's none of my relatives?. He looked like a man of authority and order, I wouldn't want to get on his bad side at all. All of a sudden he started walking towards our table. "Syl come and meet our company's lawyer Mr. Ovie Ofure,"dad said. I wasn't even listening to what he said because I kept on staring at the guy I saw across the room.

What is he doing here?. "Via didn't you hear what your father just said?,"mom exclaimed. "Umm I'm very sorry daddy, please what were you saying?". "I said you should meet the lawyer we talked to you about, Ovie Ofure," he said while pointing to the man I was just looking at. Really that's the lawyer, no wonder he looked so powerful. "Hmhmh I'm very sorry about my behaviour, I'm Sylvia nice to meet you,"I said while clearing my throat.

"It's no problem, I've heard a lot about you from your parents. I guess you know my name so there's no need for introductions,"he said while smiling. Interesting he has dimples. "Well you know the deal right Syl, he'd be the one in charge of your inheritance until when you are thirty in case anything happens to I and your mum,"dad said while looking pointedly at me. He knows very well I'm not in support of this stupid decision.

It makes me look like I'm not respnsible enough to handle his businesses. I'm beginning to not like this lawyer at all. "Dad stop talking like this, neither you or mum are going to die. You'd both live very long,"I said crossing my arms while frowning. "Syl we are just trying to take precautions. Anything can happen in the nearest future,"dad replied me. "You know what excuse me I'm not ready for this conversation with you because it's exhausting.

"I'm going to hang out with my friends and get a drink,"I said while walking out on them, I know my mom was going to be furious at me for disrespecting them in front of people but I didn't care at the moment. Sometimes I wonder if they consider me and how I feel, I'm always at the sidelines. They keep making decisions for me, when I'm not a child. Yes I know I'm only twenty one but I am very responsible and they know that.

"Babes how far?,"I said while approaching my friends who were seated at the table reserved for the VIPs. "Liv how you dey na?, you know even say make you come greet us and na you invite us," Linda one of my friends said. "No mind am, she wan dey form big woman for us. No wahala," Chinwe concurred with her. Typical Linda always being dramatic, these are my two girlfriends that I love very much. Linda and Chinwe, one is Yoruba while the latter is Igbo.

We met during our university days and the three of us were roomates throughout. I never thought I'd able to make friends because majority befriend me just because my dad is very rich but these two have really proved me wrong. "Babes na it's not like that ooo, I've being busy here. My dad keeps on deliberating on the issue of giving my inheritance to the lawyer even if I'm old enough and capable of handling it. I'm really really pissed off right now."

"Liv you shouldn't be, they are your parents and they love you very much. I'm sure they have a reason to handing everything over to him. Besides have you met the guy, you never can tell maybe you'd like him,"Linda said taking my parents side. She always does that everytime and it's very irritating. "Yeah I've seen the guy, he's alright. Though he's from Edo state."

"What do you mean by alright because when you say alright that means he's really handsome. So what if he's Edo, are you still bent on marrying Igbo guys?,"Chinwe said rolling her eyes. Chinwe has always being a guy freak ever since I know her. She keeps on jumping from one guy to the other, she calls it experimenting. "So wait Liv that's what getting you worked up, if you are sooo concerned about your father's money why don't you just marry the guy at least it ends up staying in the family and when you are thirty you can just take it back.

For safety measures I suggest you divorce him because he might get angry," Linda commented while sipping out of her wine glass."Really guys this is the advice you guys are giving to me. You know what I don't want to talk about this anymore, I just want to have fun and get high. I'd think about the consequences tomorrow." "Fine if that's what you want we are always up to the task. Cheers to getting wasted this night,"Chinwe said while clinking her glass to mine.

"Yeah but not too much though my mom is going to be really mad at me that's if she isn't right now,"I said. "Lol why would she be mad what did you do?," Linda asked me while trying to eat out of the small chops plate. "Well I walked out on them when I and my dad were sort of having an argument,"."You did what??" Chinwe exclaimed while sputtering her wine on my face. "Next time please control your mouth while talking".

"Sorry Mrs Clean, but why would you do that? you know how your mom gets when something doesn't go her way". "Look I was just angry I guess and the best option that came to my mind was to leave that place immediately, I didn't want to say something I'd regret later". I replied while throwing my arms in the air. "Girls I thought we agreed we were just gonna have fun for the rest of the day, come on now don't bore me," Linda said. "Yeah that's true"

Two hours later and I was really high I didn't expect it to go like this at all. "Hi, we meet again." I turned to the owner of the voice only to see Ovie. "Oh it's you how can I help you," I drawled while staring at him intensely. "I just want to have a conversation with you and also get to know you better if you don't mind. Also if you are comfortable with it," he added raising his hands up defensively. "Yeah yeah whatever, and what if I don't want to get to know you," I commented while rolling my eyes. "Well then I have to keep trying,"he replied smiling displaying his dimples. Oh my!! those dimples.

I guess this night is really going well.
